The Humour - Self Titled [EP]
June 12, 2008, 02:09 PM | | The Humour CD gives off this impression they will be pop punk maybe hints of electro slotted in there somewhere but looks can be deceiving. The bands image looks too smart for the music they produce, smart suits, neatly cut and waxed down hair styles just covering their eyes. The Humour could be the new Kids In Glass Houses image wise.
Hearing the first track on the CD ‘Momentary Moment’ you would think that this band will be full of raw pop punkers instead of this sleek, shiny look they seem to have. In the production of the songs, also seems to have the raw edge. I don’t particularly like this song as it seems to be bland with simple, repetitive guitar riffs and the flat vocals. It’s the same story with ‘Mr Rockefeller’ and ‘Your Robot Dance is in Time’. Apart from the third track having a fun title nothing else seems to be as good.
I don’t think I’d be playing this CD again and I wouldn’t advise you to listen to it unless you’re curious enough. I just hope, if they release another EP, single or album that it has improved a lot.
