Oooooooor................I'm a sucker for a good melody or hook of some kind too. For me, music with no discernable melody whatsoever, like say......a Mum track, is just noise.

My favourite band of all time, Pixies, found Kim Deal after placing an ad looking for someone who liked Husker Du and Peter Paul & Mary. That kind of sums it up really, no matter how heavy you wanna get, you gotta have a melody of some kind, even if it's only in a guitar part or keyboard line.

Mum are a very aquired taste, you have to be in the right mood to listen to them. Good shout on the pixies, very cool band.
