The Answer - On And On [Single]
Northern Irish 4 Piece The Answer have big things planned for 09.
A follow up album release, a silly tour supporting rock gods AC/DC and no doubt a ton of single releases off the album. With all this under their belts you would have thought they would be something spectacular.
Clearly not the case.
'On And On' is the first single release off the upcoming album 'Everday Demons'. The track is classic rock and roll at it's most boring and unoriginal. The lead vocalist is just a wannabe Robert Plant. He doesn't even have the common courtesy of hinting towards an Irish accent in his vocals, kids these days huh?
The Answer are breaking America during their tour with DC. They do seem to be a band aimed towards the US, surprising to some listeners maybe as they are Irish after all! This one track single makes use of their punchy energy and basic song writing and the same level of energy as every other Rock and Roll release in all the decades past. It starts, it has a solo, then it ends, simple.
As with most singles in this category, there is a involuntary sing-a-long or foot tapping that occurs when listening. This time there doesn't seem to be one, the lyrics are easy to pick up but relaying them is a different matter. Kind of a like an NWA record for white people.
There isn't much more to say about this record. Extrapolating any form of originality or gripping musical ability is a bloody hard feat to accomplish so well done on that boys. Tracks:
01. On And On
