Would you call the Supremes rock 'n roll? Ross and co got nice voices but there's a difference between Ross and Aretha Franklin. That was my point. Ludgate's voice and music is okay if you like smooth music - and I consider the Supremes not exactly as heavy metal, I consider their music as smooth.
So no mixed signals, just a different interpretation of the Supremes.
