Hey All,

We have just introduced a new feature which is Instant E-mail Notification for sections and threads you are subscribed to. The easiest way to subscribe to a section on Altsounds.com is to click on the little envelope in the read header section of that section and then click on Instant E-mail notification on the page that follows.

This allows you to stay up to date very easily on Altsounds and even has the added bonus of allowing people in work with no internet access other than e-mail to still partake in Altsounds.com while at work via e-mail as we allow you to reply to (comment) items via e-mail!!!

People often get wiped out at how quickly I respond to something on Altsounds. Well now the instant e-mail notification is available to all you guys too can respond this quickly. I also have e-mail on my Blackberry so literally I can be administering and replying to threads on Altsounds.com any time of day or night wherever the hell I am (as long as I have a mobile signal)!

The opportunities for this quickly become endless and would allow for savvy reviewers to post info about shows and festivals as they are watching the gig. Now you can't really get more up to date than live can you??

I would advise the serious reviewers/interviewers signup for this so that they know about all the latest opportunities, reviews and news instantaneously. It means you won't miss out on a band you wanted as most CDs, and tours are on a first come first served basis.

Wondering is people using this can let me know how they find it and if theres any recommendations of how to better it?

I find it a little confusing at the moment. When I look at my subscribed threads in my profile, it shows only the ones that I started, but I want to see everytihng I am subscribed to because I want to unsubscribe to one.

Of course there was also that one thread where I received around 30-40 (no joke) emails,notifying me of a single post that you made, but I believe you know about that.

Haha yeah, that happened to everyone not you. Should be all sorted now
though. You will autmaticaly be subscribed to your threads so you can stay
on top of them. For doign what you want I would suggest you subscribe to
that section. Click the News section and then click Category Tools and you
will see the subscription thing. That way you can stay up on what others
are posting too. Woohoo!
