Altsounds.com is quickly becoming the most trusted musical taste-making resource. Think of us as a musical sieve. We make sure the shit music goes down the drain ensuring only the most quality bands get noticed. Our review team are not scared to knock a band off their pedestal whilst at the same time they are equally not afraid of elevating a band to super stardom. This is where you come in. We are seeking taste-makers in all the alternative genres. By alternative we mean "alternative to the mainstream". Taste-makers with a love for all genres are urged to apply.
We are looking for the guy [or girl] that starts a fanzine for his/[her] favourite band or someone that goes to gigs to take photos because they love that style of music. We are looking for people that love vinyl and equally people that love what an MP3 brings to the table. We are looking for people that will always listen to an album they have never even heard in the hope it will be the next amazing album. People that know music. Not just what happened this year but what happened over the last 50 years. We are looking for people that listen to Johnny Cash and who listen to Chombichrist plus anything [and everything] in-between, above and beyond.
The role is intern based [no pay sorry.] but it allows you passionate music individuals a place to let others know about the bands that you love at the same time spitting on the bands that bother you. Don't keep the best bands to yourself, tell others just to help the band you love. On the flip-side if there is a band that bugs the fuck out of you don't be afraid to make sure others are aware too! No experience necessary but good verbal and writing skills and an ounce of creativity are required. You will be expected to be ready to give opinion on music that you don't usually listen to in a fair and honest light regardless of specific genre or even sub-genre.
We are interested in the people that are always pushing new music on their friends. The ones that at the same time as standing up and communicating their hatred for something musical could quite as comfortably influence others with their positive opinions on bands they love and be able to clearly give the reasons why.
1. If you own over 100 vinyl records we want you.
2. If you spend more than 100 Pounds a month on music we want you
3. If you produce music we want you.
4. If you can review musical equipmetn we want you.
5. If you can identify which band in 10 are the best we want you.
6. If you can easily distinguish between musical quality and musical crap we want you.
7. If you enjoyed the way this was written we want you.
Looking forward to hearing from you all.
