Bleed Electric Audio and Video Remix Contest

A double whammy from Bleed Electric; audio and video mixing!

Bleed Electric is offering “IV. Birds as High as Planes” for remixing. An interesting track; think Electroclash meets Public Enemy via Kanye, and you’ve got a start.

The band is also looking for a video. Create a video to accompany your remix, and you could be a two-time winner!

About Bleed Electric
Bleed Electric is the brainchild of Welsh record producer Chris Maguire. The band's highly-anticipated self-titled debut album is nearing completion. While the band toils away in the studio putting the finishing touches on what has already been referred to as "a mind-blowing record," they've offered up a lone track for remixing and for video creation.

BLEED ELECTRIC, in conjunction with Altsounds, Screamadelica Studios and Acidplanet.com®, invite you to put your own spin on song 'IV. Birds as High as Planes.' The rules are simple- remix the song. Our favourite remix wins! Create your own music video inspired by the music and lyrics. Best visuals win! Both the best video and best remix will be considered for potential inclusion as a B-side and official music video.

Re: Bleed Electric Audio and Video Remix Contest

I am sure this is a stupid question but where do you get the actual track from?

Re: Bleed Electric Audio and Video Remix Contest

Acidplanet.com/bleedelectric there you can download the physical studio
multitracks to use as you want to create a remix. You can also listen to a
really funny "radio" edit word of the song with all the words like fuck and
shit blanked out. It's only when you listen like that I realize how many
swear words we have in a song! It's funny how they thought the line "Pull
out my gun and tell my buddies, i'm gonna murder them" is allowed to stay
though. Haha

Re: Bleed Electric Audio and Video Remix Contest

Yeah I have the multitracks but I thought it would be easier to start with the full track and edit it from there. I have never remixed before so I am guessing this is not the right way to approach it?

Re: Bleed Electric Audio and Video Remix Contest

When I first started mixing I actually never started by listening to the
original. The direction of the completed track can potentially taint you
into doing something a certain way. I would say listen through the
multitracks until there is something you like and start with that. Then put
the next thing in you like. You can also inerject whatever you want from
wherever else to it too. The idea here is to make this sound like something
you want to hear.
