Brit nominated, acoustic guitar virtuoso Newton Faulkner has released his third album Write It On Your Skin since 2009’s Rebuilt By Humans.
It’s been over three years since the last album and in that time he’s toured the world, started a family (he has a one year old son, Beau Henry Faulkner-Richards) and some might say helped usher in a new generation of singer-songwriters. Ed Sheeran, Ben Howard and Michael Kiwanuka might be stylistically diverse, but their ‘have-guitar-will-travel’ approach surely flows from the trailblazing example of Newton.

So, with this stuff, all the new stuff, I’ve written it to be played live, and it’s kinda got a different atmosphere to it. The other thing that allowed me to do was to play as many new songs as I wanted in the set – the second album took quite a bit of infiltrating and merging, it was quite hard to find ways of doing it live. Whereas with this album, I can pretty much sit and play the whole album start to finish on guitar, which was tricky with the second.
