To continue their year-long celebrations of Ten Years of ATP we are thrilled to announce that All Tomorrow's Parties will return to Kutsher's Country Club, Monticello for it's third ATP New York festival over Labor Day weekend, running from Friday 3rd September � Sunday 5th September. Weekend and Day Tickets are available, with a Layaway Ticket option available.

Tickets are available from today on pre-sale via ATP, and will go on general sale this coming Wednesday from ticketsellers via www.atpfestival.com

Tickets priced at $250 + booking fee for the weekend, or Friday day tickets priced at $110 + booking fee are on pre-sale now via Paypal direct to ATP. ABOUT THE VENUE

Kutshers is a country club based in upstate New York, less than 2 hours drive from New York City. The club is set in 1200 acres of beautiful countryside in the magnificent Catskills mountains. The resort comprises of a hotel with several bars/nightclubs and cafes/restaurants. Plus various other amenities including a swimming pool, golf course, tennis courts, health spa and much much more.

The event takes place over 3 days, from Friday 3rd September to Sunday 5th September 2009 inclusive at Kutshers. Performances starting in the mid-afternoon, with around 35 acts set to play live across the weekend with DJ sets until late into the night, comedy, movies and more. There is dining, bars and other amenities onsite. Performances all take place indoors at the intimate venues within the complex, so you have no need to fear about the weather!

ABOUT ALL TOMORROW'S PARTIES

All Tomorrow's Parties has been promoting festivals and concerts throughout the world for the last ten years. It was founded in the wake of Belle and Sebastian�s Bowlie Weekender, with Mogwai curating in the unusual setting of Pontins Holiday Camp, Camber Sands. Since then the festival has appeared every year and has expanded across the globe continuing to set itself apart from large scale corporate festivals by staying intimate and fan-friendly. Codeine Velvet Club's debut album to be made available through streaming service we7

Seizing opportunities presented by the digital space, Codeine Velvet Club's album will be released in an innovative manner.

Starting from November 16th free online music service we7 (Free Music, Listen to Music Free) will be streaming two tracks a week from the bands' eponymously titled debut album, ultimately streaming the full album before it is realeased on general sale. In addition, we7 will have exclusive access to the band, publishing interviews with Jon Lawler, lead singer and chief songwriter of The Fratellis, on its website at the opening and close of Codeine Velvet Club's UK tour.

For fans who listen to the tracks at we7 or via a distributed we7 widget and want to experience the band live, we7 will also be running a series of nationwide and regional ticket giveaways, helping fans to get as close to the band and the music as possible.

2010 BONNAROO MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL DATES ANNOUNCED

Superfly Productions and A.C. Entertainment are proud to announce the dates for the ninth annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. Confirmed to take place June 10 - 13, 2010, the four-day festival will once again be held at the same beautiful, 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee, 60 miles southeast of Nashville. Ticket pre-sales for the festival will begin on November 27, 2009 and will last until 11:59pm eastern on December 31st. About the band:
Founded in the summer of 2008, SYSTEM DIVIDE set out to revolutionize the conventions of the over-saturated melodic death metal genre, proving that extreme metal can have more depth than blast beats, while female vocals do not have to conform to the precepts of the �Goth� genre. In mixing many styles, The Collapse, the band's debut EP, breaks all the rules of extreme metal and is a landmark release for the new band.

As opposed to interjecting simple, predictable clean choruses into contrived song structures, SYSTEM DIVIDE unites serene female vocals and extreme vocals driven by lyrical themes that confront and seek to break everyday themes of disillusionment, societal materialism, and individual apathy. Musically, the band delivers myriad styles of riffing and grooves, while augmenting the entrancing soundscapes with hard-hitting drums and intricate bass lines. These elements together define the unique, spell binding, hypnotic sound of SYSTEM DIVIDE.

In order to achieve this complex calculus of sounds on The Collapse, Cole Martinez handled tracking duties at Conquistador Recordings. Mixing and mastering duties were handled by Jacob Hansen (Aborted, HateSphere, Volbeat) at Hansen Studios in Denmark in April and May 2009. Artwork for The Collapse was completed by Colin Marks (Strapping Young Lad, Aborted, Nevermore). The result is a sonic and visual masterpiece that metal has eagerly been waiting for.

The band recruited Joseph Spiller (ex-The Binary Code) as a second guitarist shortly after the release of The Collapse and continued writing for its first full length, The Conscious Sedation, due out early 2010. Following the philosophy of don't break up a winning team, the band once again will record with producer/engineer Cole Martinez and mix with Jacob Hansen in Denmark. A video has been shot for The Apex Doctrine by Kevin Custer (Hatebreed, Testament, Dope, Dying Fetus, Suffocation) and will hitting airways soon.

Polish tech death metal masters DECAPITATED are finally back with a vengeance! After the band had to suffer tragic losses during the past two years, the last remaining founding member Vogg managed to put together a whole new line-up that will represent DECAPITATED that will make 2010 as powerful and brutal as they were ever before.

To open that new chapter, DECAPITATED will embark on a co-headlining UK tour with fellow label mates KATAKLYSM in February 2010!

UK artist/composer Charlie Alex March is pleased to announce the release of his debut album, Home/Hidden, with Lo Recordings. Home/Hidden, set for release in the US on February 16, is a wonderfully melodic and satisfying affair, gloriously English in a non-sniffy manner, like tea and crumpets or a stroll on an autumn day.

Remarkably focused and mature, it's eclectic mixture of real strings, treated piano and all manner of electronic keyboards create a surprisingly coherent and comfortable musical vision. Home/Hidden continues Charlie's association with Sean O'Hagan and Dominic Murcott of the High Llamas (string arrangements and vibraphone respectively) and also features the talents of Andy Ramsay of Stereolab on drums, Jo Apps on vocals and Gabriel from Metronomy playing bass guitar.

After two acclaimed EPs, one of which led David Bowie to comment, "it's a beautiful glockenspiel and string-led instrumental that gently comes and goes in under three minutes. Deftones Charity Auction & Show

Today begins a charity auction for Chi Cheng, bassist for Deftones. Chi has been in a semi-concious state since being in a horrific accident in November 2008, and his family has accumulated an overwhelming amount of medical bills that insurance does not entirely cover. It is Deftones' mission to raise significant funds to help ensure Chi's recovery by playing two very special benefit shows in Hollywood on 11/19 and 11/20, and also by launching a benefit auction in conjunction with CharityBuzz.com.

Graffiti6 busy in studio preparing for their debut record; due Spring 2010

The duo collaboration of Jamie Scott and TommyD, known as Graffiti6, have enjoyed a surprising 2009. Keeping their heads down busy in their NW London studio, the singer that is Mr Scott and production wizard Mr D, were caught by surprise when their psychedelic track �Stare Into The Sun� was picked up by The Sun for their Summer TV /Radio campaign.

The Track defined Graffiti6 and gave rise to their unique psychedelic persona.
But of course it was never planned this way�

Musically, Graffiti6 takes you to a dream world filled with familiar yet new sonic senses. With childlike qualities of innocence and euphoria, early demos purvey the lush vocals of Jamie, and the happy melodic textures of Tommy�s unique interpretation of pop all tied up in a Big Beat. Early tipping has already emanated from Music Week, The Hit Sheet and Record Of The Day and even crossed the pond into Billboard.

The collaboration although as unexpected as they come, was also one that was relatively easy. Explains TommyD: "Graffiti6 is so effortlessly natural to me. I�ve seen so many artists fail cos they try to follow the crowd at the expense of what they really love. Jamie and I have a simple agenda. Just make great music and present it with passion"

As a rarity for this industry, the twosome had sense not to rush their record to coincide with the obvious benefits of their major TV sync. For them it�s more for the enjoyment of their craft as opposed to making a quick buck.

As Jamie alludes - "This has given me the chance to indulge myself in ways I never have, whilst making music that has lifted me to new heights. It�s the first time I�ve made records my mates want to party to, that for me is a novelty�.

Signed to Sony/ATV publishing, it is without surprise that the boys are still eyeing their options. What�s the rush? Tommy D has worked with music giants such as Kanye West, KT Tunstall and Janet Jackson. Jamie, who you may remember from Jamie Scott and The Town, has had success across Europe and Asia, working with the likes of Ron Sexsmith, and touring with Alicia Keys amongst other.

The boys remain in the studio but have expanded to a 6 piece hence the name. They are now joined by among others Jimi Crayon whose artwork and design will provide the visual backdrop to the music.
The band will start Gigging soon. As Jamie says � �This has so much energy live that I might need to take several breaks� But as ever with Graffiti6; anything can happen and will happen.

Welcome to NICE NICE. Already well-known in their hometown of Portland, Oregon as one of the hottest underground bands on the circuit, they've now signing to Warp Records, and the time has come to step it up a gear. Their their first offering 'One Hit', out 23rd of November. By way of introduction the duo - Jason Buehler and Mark Shirazi - will also be coming over to do their first ever European tour with a variety of supports, playing alongside the likes of Wavves,BLK JKS, Battles, Flying Lotus and more, including at the Warp20 and birthday events in London & Berlin this December.

Last November Releases New Single & Announces New EP

Atlanta-based pop rock band Last November is set to release their brand new EP �tug o� war!� on January 26, 2010. The EP follows up the release of their first single and music video from the new record, �Julie,� which premiered exclusively on iTunes and YouTube on November 10, 2009. �tug o� war!� is currently in production at Southern Tracks Studios in Atlanta, and follows up the band�s hit sophomore album �Over the Top or Under the Weather,� which was released in the spring of 2008. The album featured the single �Seventeen at Three in the Morning� which was dubbed �the teen anthem of 2009� by numerous teen publications, while receiving radio airplay on over 200 radio stations across the nation, with numbers still growing daily.

Lead singer and guitarist Luke Pilgrim edited and directed the music video for �Julie� demonstrating not only his talent in music, but his talent in production as well. While on their summer 2009 tour, the band stumbled upon the little desert town of Ludlow, CA off the Historic Route 66 where on a spur of the moment, they decided to shoot the video.

Of the EP, Luke shares, �I feel like it shows our southern roots a little more than our past records, which I am really happy with. There�s even a song called �Georgia.� Lyrically speaking, this is a very personal record for me. I wrote �Down and Out� during a very dark time in my life, and in contrast there are songs like �Firefly� that was inspired by my new baby nephew, Jack Johnson. The name of the EP seemed fitting for the record, as it refers to how sometimes relationships can seem like a game of �tug o� war.��

Last November is currently wrapping up their west coast tour and is quickly gaining national recognition. In 2009, they secured a spot as one of the Top 20 MySpace Power-Pop bands, and became one of the most watched bands to come out of the south. With the release of �tug o� war!� it looks like 2010 will be an even busier year for Last November.

Damien* new album "Crippled Cute"

Recorded at Vacuum Studios in Bologna in June �09, with artistic production by Settlefish�s Bruno Germano (Disco Drive, My Awesome Mixtape, Blake/e/e�) then mastered by Carl Saff in Chicago, "Crippled Cute" it's at first sight a collection of catchy indie pop songs, with a darker side footed in the punk/wave ground, the heart in the �90s (Modest Mouse, Pavement) and the hands in the new century (Klaxons, Foals).

The album is now available by mailorder from the band my space or on Suiteside - record label | booking agency | promotion, in a limited edition of 300 copies packaged in cartoon sleeve + booklet with lyrics.

Reclused in an old country house in the San Leo castle village - near Rimini - Damien* realised a peculiar videoclip for "Confidants", first single from the new album "Crippled Cute".

Directed by Alberto Baldolini of the fellow band General Decay, the video express as many contradictions as the song itself - an apparently happy tune with a disappointment theme inside, a sing-a-long tune broken by a heavy guitar riffs in the coda, slow vs fast, lights vs shades.

The old framed picture you can see in the movie is a portrait of Damiano's (Damien* drummer) grandparents from the 1930's.

Robot Koch 'Death Star Droid' AOL Spinner Listening Party; New MP3s

Following the successful 'Aftershocks' EP on his own Robots Don't Sleep label, Robot Koch returns with his long anticipated full length 'Death Star Droid'.

Technically, this is Robot Koch's debut LP but the man is no rookie - 'Death Star Droid' connects the dots between his club project Jahcoozi and his post rock outfit The Tape. He has also made beats and remixes for many international artists including Rustie and Amanda Blank - staple drops in the playlists of bass luminaries such as Mary Anne Hobbs, Gas Lamp Killer and Hudson Mohawke.

'Death Star Droid' is infused with dubstep and wonky hip hop, but the introduction of live acoustic instruments and heartfelt melodies is what sets it apart. The grizzly synths and bass lines on 'While' are supported by a drifting piano. On 'Hard To Find' Robot introduces strings and flutes - the signature use of wobbling Moog and Korg present throughout.

Robot has always drawn inspirations from all ends of the musical spectrum.
Having started out as a drummer in a punk and hardcore band, he found his way into electronic music via hip hop, jazz and DJing. His favourite albums include 'Reign In Blood' by Slayer, 'A Love Supreme' by John Coltrane and '36 Chambers' by Wu-Tang Clan.

Robot's mixtapes have what could be easily called a cult following on the net. The blogosphere is jam packed with these gems. What sets these mixes apart from the next man's is the liberty that they exhibited in defying genre based music by combining and clashing a broad spectrum of sound. Flying Lotus recently asked him to contribute a mixtape for the brainfeeder podcast. The mix featured West African folk and rare jazz oddities. Fly Lo had told Robot: "We gotta feed the kids more than just beats." It's clear that the man listened.

'Death Star Droid' is far more than just a producer album with a selection of up to date beats. It's a sincere musical statement. Expect to be surprised - this is music made for true music lovers.

The Antlers Premiere New Version Of Sylvia On NPR

Sometimes you have to put yourself first, no matter how difficult that notion seems; no matter how much time and effort you�ve already put into this one person�the person who�s reduced your very being to its absolute core. Just ask Peter Silberman, the string-pulling founder of The Antlers, a solo project that suddenly went widescreen on the self-released Hospice LP (now receiving a proper widespread pressing through Frenchkiss). The first Antlers effort to feature two key permanent players�powerhouse drummer Michael Lerner and the layer-lathering multi-instrumentalist Darby Cicci�it�s an album with a sound that�s actually as ambitious as its concept.

�Hospice came from the idea of caring for a terminal patient who�s mentally abusive to you,� says Silberman. �You don�t have the right to argue with them, either, because they�re the one who�s dying here; they�re the one that�s been dealt a wrong hand. So you take it, but you can only take so much. Eventually, you realize that this person is just destroying you.�

Appropriately enough, Hospice�s 10 distinct chapters resonate on debilitating sonic and lyrical levels, from the hypnotic harp and tension-ratcheting build of �Two� to the sing-or-sink choruses of �Bear� and the speaker-rattling peaks of �Sylvia,� easily one of the year�s most immediate epics. It�s here, amidst contrasting shards of ambient noise, sweeping strings and smoky horns, where The Antlers truly transcend Silberman�s singer-songwriter beginnings�a striking escalation of expectations first hinted at on 2008�s New York Hospitals EP. The progression doesn�t end there, either. In a move that could be taken as the riff-raking extension of his thorough guitar training (from the age of 6 �til right before college), �Atrophy� and �Wake� delve into sheets of distortion, subtle shades of soul, cicada-like effects and enough movements to fill an entire EP.

�We were going for something that�d be dense but not too complicated,� explains Silberman. �I hate the word �lush,� but I guess that�s the best way of describing it. The structures are like pop songs�verse/chorus, verse/chorus�but the sound is a little more shoegaze-y or post-rocky.�

It�s about to get even more complicated, too, as The Antlers� Technicolor-tinged trio take all of Hospice�s songs�and three previous releases�in a completely different direction, jettisoning a note-for-note rendition of the record for �a massive sound� doused in delay, reverb and unrehearsed chaos. And to think Cicci was a stage actor with a desire to drop it all for music just a few years ago.

�Hospice was the clear indication that this isn�t a singer-songwriter thing at all,� says Silberman. �Whatever we record next is going to define the three of us as a �band.�

He continues, �I always figured I�d be the �shredder� in a group� But things somehow ended up this way.�

We wouldn�t have it any other way, either.

Richard Christy, former drummer for Death and Iced Earth, comedian, and radio personality on the legendary Howard Stern Show on Sirius-XM Satellite Radio, on drums. Famed producer Jason Suecof who has produced and/or mixed some of the most prominent albums from metal's leading bands, including: Trivium, All That Remains, The Black Dahlia Murder, Chimaira, DevilDriver and many, many more, on guitars. Tim "Ripper" Owens, who fronted heavy metal legends Judas Priest from 1996 to 2002, performed alongside Richard in Iced Earth from 2003 to 2004, and currently performs with Beyond Fear and Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force, on vocals. And one of metal's most heralded bassists, Steve Digiorgio, who played alongside Richard in the bands Control Denied and Iced Earth, and has also performed with Death, Autopsy, Testament, Vintersorg, and is a founding member of technical thrash pioneers Sadus.

An underground rock icon and revered artist, the late, great Wesley Willis attracted and offended people the world over. Wesley Willis's Joy Rides follows the life of the prolific and controversial artist on his journey from obscurity to fame.

A Chicago native, Wesley Willis became an underground rock icon, revered artist and hero to many before his untimely death in 2003. Termed by some as an "outsider artist" due to his schizophrenia, the film examines Wesley's ability to draw people in despite his intimidating facade.

Through his force of personality and his artistic talents, Wesley's music and art attracted people from all walks of life. Greeting people with a headbutt and a request to say "rah" and "roh", Wesley quickly stood out in a crowd. Through interviews with friends and footage from the last four years of Wesley's life, a portrait emerges of a man whose day-to-day existence was wrought with pain and joy. Although his life was troubled, Wesley never stopped creating. He continued to draw pictures and write songs up until his death.

Wesley Willis's Joy Rides won the Gold Hugo for the Chicago Award at the 2008 Chicago International Film Festival. It premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival in January 2008, and has since been shown at Noise Pop Film Festival, Hot Docs, SXSW, and The Starz Denver Film Festival.

We left late Friday night, after the guys went and saw Job for a Cowboy, Gwar, and LoG in our hometown, the show was pretty fucking sick, headed off to Allentown, PA where the infamous Croc Rock pizza awaited�it wasn't so hot haha! We really had no idea what to expect as this tour as it's a little bit different genre-wise. It's been hit or miss, but for the most part I think it's getting through. Hopefully Peter and Alexi can get into the country asap so Hypocrisy can start tearing it up every night as well! The second night we played at Volume 11 in Raleigh, NC�and we have a little history there. As our previous three visits we laid a goose egg on merch every time, this time through, we finally got some good merch sales and had some very generous friends smoke us out, which meant our perception of Volume 11 did a huge 180! We grilled out that night with the guys from Blackguard (totally awesome brothers and an amazing band, definitely check them out!) shared a bottle of Jay-mo and woke to the sound of angry businessmen telling us to move our vehicle from their parking lot. We obviously denied the mess of beer cans strewn about the outside of the bus haha, but hey, I didn't know anything about that!! After Atlanta we drove straight to Jacksonville, FL where some friends of ours reside, just dodging Ida on the way, very lucky there, our bus and trailer don't mix with tropical storms. Our show was cancelled in Ft. Lauderdale which totally blew cuz we all were really looking forward to heading to the beach down south. SO, we made up for it and spent the day at Universal Studios, and needless to say, it was fucking awesome. Most of us had never been there before and it's easily one of the most fun parks I've ever been to. It was a pretty cloudy day so NOBODY was there; we went on everything multiple times through. We shared some drinks and lunch at the Hard Rock (we saw Dime's Crown Royal Guitar and Vinnie's full Pearl set used at the show where Dime was shot, pretty intense shit). Met up with the guys from Blackguard and hit some coasters with them. We grabbed a hotel and passed the fuck out as I had been up for 36 hours straight ensuring we could make this awesome day happen in time. Last night was Orlando, FUCK downtown Orlando parking. We had to park a mile away after we unloaded, after we played had to come back again, and then there was some confusion with payment as we were playing this Anti Pop festival, which had a million shows going on, the city was fucking packed, so we sat double parked on a one way street in front of the venue until payment was received haha�and it was. Long drive ahead to Texas and then to CALI!! Can't fucking wait, I'll be throwing some more updates at ya next week, until then spread the word that we are on �The Tour from Afar� with Ensiferum, Hypocrisy, and Blackguard, then hopping on with Vader and Warbringer for a couple weeks, see all you fucks on the road!!! Oh and there's a video coming soon of what we do most while on the road�COD�constantly haha! Light em up and drink em down!�

Airbourne forced to delay UK tour

Rowdy Aussie rogues Airbourne reluctantly have to announce that their intended February UK headline tour has been delayed due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict. Originally at the start of a full European tour, the UK dates will move to the end, and kick off in the UK instead now from March 29. All tickets bought for the original No Guts, No Glory dates remain valid and the band will still be performing in all previously announced towns.

Read almost any piece about Xiu Xiu and you'll see words like 'harsh' or 'brutal' � the same words that appear before 'truth' when an unwavering eye is turned on any intimate detail of our lives. Fair descriptions of the themes central to the music, they sit incongruous to the refined, intricate, and beautiful approach taken in crafting the twelve tracks on Xiu Xiu's new album Dear God, I Hate Myself.

The two biggest constants throughout Xiu Xiu's catalog are honesty and evolution. This remains true with Dear God, I Hate Myself as it delivers a look at responsibility, fear, healing, and societal roles wrapped in rich gothic pop music. The sound is still distinctly Xiu Xiu, but Jamie Stewart's vocals are finally effortless paired with vibrant melodies full of subtlety and the distinct sonic accents expected of this anticipated Xiu Xiu release. The result is a record that proves that art can be pop and pop can challenge you to look inside yourself.

Stewart is joined by new full-time band member Angela Seo on piano, synth, and drum programming; with production handled by Jamie and Deerhoof'sGreg Saunier. Together they've crafted a fully grown sound for Dear God, I Hate Myself with elements from goth and pop that are expertly performed by a crop of brilliant musicians. Saunier himself plays on much of the record as does Ches Smith (John Zorn, Terry Riley, Marc Ribot) who supplies timpani, conga and moog along with a broad range of other instrumentation. Deerhoof's John Dieterich is all over a rendition of the traditional folk song �Cumberland Gap� and Xiu Xiu is even joined by the Immaculata Catholic School Orchestra in Stewart's ode to heartbreak and healing, �This Too Shall Pass Away (for Freddy).� The title track, one of four songs done primarily on a Nintendo DS, explores the relationship between faith and despair with a layer of commentary provided by the bizarre sounds of the music itself.

Each new Xiu Xiu release has evolved alongside the lives of Jamie Stewart and company. On this record you'll find more intensity and introspection than ever before, but sonically and lyrically it continues to move forward with a subtly new perspective � hyper-focussed yet aware of a larger, external picture unfolding. The pace of the record grips you, the music offers layers of detail, and the themes focus on not just the past or stark present but hint towards vespers of the future as well. Dear God, I Hate Myself will challenge you and force you to look inside yourself, but only after you get lost in the music. It's passionate, it's energetic, and it affects you.

The Album Leaf: New album and confirmed UK Dates 2010

The new Album Leaf album A Chorus of Storytellers, marks the first decade for the group led by Jimmy LaValle. In those 10 years, LaValle has gone from initial improvised home recordings to five complete studio albums, from opening slots to leading an incredible world-touring band to the stage at Red Rocks, headlining festivals and performing at the Hollywood Bowl with the Incredible String Band. LaValle�s well-earned reputation as a crafter of impeccable sonic imagery even led to a critically-acclaimed show at the Seattle International Film Festival where The Album Leaf performed a live score for the 1927 silent film Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans.
A Chorus of Storytellers is the perfect showcase for LaValle's skill as a recording artist. The album's 11 tracks are crisp, clean, flowing and beautifully complex. The album does something even bolder than his previous albums; LaValle's distinctive, dreamy, cinematic soundscapes are often jarred out of reverie, particularly on �We Are�: with its skidding beat moving under LaValle's bounding Moog line and insistent vocals, it�s the closest thing to a pop song The Album Leaf has ever produced.

A Chorus of Storytellers was recorded by Ryan Hadlock in the frosty month of February 2009 at Bear Creek Studio just outside of Seattle. It was mixed in the decidedly warmer month of June in Reykjavik, Iceland by Jon Birgisson (of Sigur Ros). Those paying attention will notice that this is nearly the same way their last album Into the Blue Again (2006) was recorded. There is, however, one fundamental difference between this and every other album The Album Leaf has ever recorded. For the first time in five albums, The Album Leaf recorded with his entire touring band.

In the past, almost every instrument was performed by LaValle. This time the whole band - multi-instrumentalist Matthew Resovich, guitarist Drew Andrews, drummer Timothy Reece, bassist Luis Hermosillo, an Icelandic horn section and a few symphony players were invited to participate allowing Lavelle to act more like a conductor. The result? A feeling of unity and shared purpose, as well as an expanded sonic breadth which is expressed in the album title. "I wanted to name it according to what happened with the whole process," he explains. "It took two-and-a-half, close to three years to make. There were so many different things that went into it and there�s a lot of storytelling behind it."

LaValle has been able to craft an album that ventures into new, at times beat-intensive, territory. Chillingly delicate and more pop-based than ever before, �In a Safe Place� masterfully negotiates the spaces between minimal electronic music and melancholy instrumental neo-rock. The inclusion of vocals from The Black Heart Procession�s Pall Jenkins, Sigur Ros� Jon Birgisson, and LaValle himself is one of the striking results from this newly collaborative process. �If I wasn�t in that environment, I sure wouldn�t have sung,� he marvels. We�re glad he did, and you will be, too.

Looking back on the past decade, LaValle recognizes his distance from the bedroom recordings of his early days. "If I were making the same records now that I was making ten years ago, then I'd obviously not be doing something right," he asserts. "But I think back over the work and everything I've done over the ten years and it feels pretty good. I'm still doing it, and I'm making a living at it. It's cool to think of it in that way; I went for it and worked for it and here I am."

Set up by Andy Bambino The Crystal Palace Triangle Free Festivals have grown organically with more and more traders, pubs and restaurants joining in the fun.

Reading based modern thrashers SYLOSIS entered the studio last Friday to record the follow up to 2008s successfull debut �Conclusion Of An Age�.

The band is working with Scott Atkins who worked on the predecessor.

Commented mainman Josh Middleton:

We're ridiculously excited about starting work on the next album. We're definitely progressing as a band, incorporating some new influences to make an album that's more mature, darker and generally a lot heavier. I've been writing riffs thinking things like �what if (TOOL guitarist) Adam Jones played guitar in DEATH� haha. The songs are a little longer this time around and a bit more complex and technical which is something that's just happened naturally.

We're just about to start tracking the drums for ten days with producer Scott Atkins. We contemplated using other producers but we all really enjoyed working with Scott and we were really happy with the production on the last album. He really pushes for tightness and understands where we're coming from musically. In terms of the production, this time we're going to aim for a much more organic, raw sound. Rob 's really progressed as a drummer in the last year so I can't wait to hear him lay this stuff down in the studio. Once the drums are complete we head off on tour with DRAGONFORCE so we wont end up recording the guitars, bass and vocals etc until January.

Oy's record entitled First Box Then Walk is so playfully unpredictable and colorful, that if it were a screenplay, it could easily be the next Michel Gondry film. Inspired by the Dadaist spirit, the love for improvisation and loosely based on childhood memories, this seasoned sounding debut is truly a heartfelt roller coaster odyssey through the outer limits of music. Joy Frempong's light hearted storytelling filled with a child like wonder, a sense of surprise and a wholesomely absurd, giddy sense of humor provides the perfect backdrop for this musical exploration. In a sense this record is all about rediscovering the magic in music.

It should come as no surprise then that a whole army of children's toys comes to life on First Box Then Walk to form a big band supporting a tribal chant in an imaginary language, or that the sound of a noisy street in the background effortlessly morphs into a delicate harmony. Time and time again we are challenged as listeners and reminded by the artist that nothing here is what it appears to be and that everything is possible.

From the very beginning of the album the idea of genre is deemed inoperative, but traces of Jazz, Soul, 70s progressive Rock, Avant-Pop and contemporary experimental Electronica can be found throughout. The whole spectrum of voices on this record from the over-the-top theatrics' spoken word recitals to the soaringly soulful hook lines, the abstract backing Electronica soundtrack and the more classically inclined compositions supporting them - that's all Joy from beginning to end. And what's important to point out - she can singlehandedly bring it all back to life on stage.

Four long years in the making, often interrupted by endless tours and all sorts of musical collaborations, but a unique solo artist was finally born!

Hush Arbors unveils new video; the rocking J. Mascis-produced "Yankee Reality" out on

Yankee Reality. What does it mean? Does it portend that there is some unique, other plain of existence for northerners and / or city folk? Something perhaps alien to, well, everybody else? Virginia cum citizen of London / rambling man Keith Wood knows all about it. Several years ago, he relocated to the city of crumpets and tea, where he, among other things, secured a gig playing guitar for notoriously intense death folk legends Current 93. In the midst of all this excitement, he has managed to write and record a brand new Hush Arbors album, his second for Ecstatic Peace!, and it's his finest to date. With a full band in tow - multi instrumentalist Leon Dufficy, bassist Jason Ajemian, and drummer Ryan Sawyer - and none other than J Mascis in the producer's chair, Yankee Reality continues Wood's winning streak while introducing an embarrassment of riches in the way of surprises and curveballs along the way.

"Day Before," featuring J Mascis's unmistakable lead guitar, immediately elevates this triumphant opening number to 'classic Hush" status. No one mixes sad sac 90's indie with sun-baked 60s pop like Wood, and "Day Before" serves as a brief reminder. Next up is "Lisbon," a bouncy, folk rock number reminiscent of the Byrds, punctuated by a searing solo. "Fast Asleep" is a distended, plaintive dirge that evokes wooziness and wispiness over a stoned guitar drone. "So They Say" picks up where "Fast Asleep" leaves off, a languid tune built around slo-mo guitar drenched in reverb and Wood's gentle voice singing lines like "Down this gap, it divides us / The hanging rock, the sun flare / I'm taking the longest route to the bottom / But I know my way around there." Think the third Velvets album distilled to its essence, without all the shit about drag queens. "One Way Ticket" is up next and one of the most adventurous Hush Arbors songs since dude started singing actual words. Built on a wonderfully apprehensive-sounding piano line and druggy atmosphere, "One Way Ticket" compulsorily recalls Movietone if they'd backed up Neil on his Elektra demos.

As for "Coming Home" - well, that one's another curveball. Easily one of the finest songs Wood has written to date, this beautifully arranged number features a gorgeous strings-approximating mellotron every time the song radically changes gears from two step country / Creedence boogie to its out-of-nowhere chorus, which oughta have the girls in Band of Horses t-shirts swooning in no time. If "So They Say" is Wood's take on the Velvet's third album, surely "Sun Shall" is his "Venus in Furs," compete with a propulsive, insistent Moe Tucker beat (provided by Mascis) and ominous ostrich guitar jangle.

"Take It Easy" may be the album's best track. On this easy, breezy country number, Wood plays it relatively straight, owning up to his hillbilly roots and mixing 'em up with more than a little Norman Greenbaum (Oh, who are we kidding? No one knows more than one Norman Greenbaum song. It's totally "Spirit In The Sky," folks). "For While You Slept," again featuring Mascis, quotes Petty's "American Girl" before lifting off into what could only be considered a wedding song - if the reception was held at Roswell City Hall.

Just when you think Wood's mellowed out too much, "Devil Made You High" ends things on a serious art-punk tip. From the sounds of it, Wood probably agrees with me that The Smiths were best when they tried to rock out - "Shakespeare's Sister," "London," Handsome Devil" - those were the jams! Yeah, so the albums ends with this unabashed garage pop tune which, by the conclusion, has gone totally off the rails, like the boys are trying to give Kawabata a run for his money. Maybe you were expecting something else from an album that thanks a wood chopper ghost in the liner notes and is dedicated to Link Wray? "Ride the tubes back home," indeed.

Yankee Reality is a credit to Keith Wood's vast talents as a songwriter and performer, but also, stands as a shining example of his breadth of focus and versatility. How many fools out there love Merle Haggard, The Dead and Dinosaur, Jr equally? I know one.

When Keith played me "Yankee Reality" I knew it was not only the best Hush Arbors album, but also that Keith's work had entered an entirely new world bursting with hauntings.

This is a classic, timeless, ageless American album, full of hope and yearning, beauty and melancholy, and which pours out stories like flowers. Are these rainbow-at-end-of-the-world songs? Or heart's break/heart's ease-at-the-end-of-the-road songs? Anyway, I thought of horses and acid, death sleeping in a shack, the river bursting its banks and grinning like whisky, the birdlight and fading empires. Starry, dreamlike, plaintive, gorgeous and broken, Yankee Reality is a perfect and utterly individual work, endlessly inventive yet instantly recognizable as being in a noble and generous tradition.

Yankee Reality sends shivers through my body when I listen to it. I don't know where to start, because I don't know where it ends. A circular masterpiece effortlessly stationed between the sea, the sun and the moon.

Side-Line sponsors South American girl + donates 878 dollar + continues Facebook action

On November 1, 2009 the industrial music magazine Side-Line announced that it would donate 1 dollar to charity per new member who joined the Side-Line Facebook page at Side-Line Magazine | Facebook . Since then 878 new people have joined and thus Side-Line will donate 878 dollar to the following charity project: Plan Belgium, part of the global Plan International organisation which sponsors children from the third world in order to help them go to school and get decent medical are. Side-Line will be more precisely sponsoring a young South American girl and will help her financially during her youth.

Side-Line will regularly post about her on Side-Line so that readers can all follow how she is doing and see how they indirectly have helped as well if only by being a member of the Side-Line Facebook page. Flaming Lips UK Tour dates and New Video

Tickets for The Flaming Lips� previously announced London show at The Troxy sold out almost immediately after being released. Now public demand has lead to the confirmation of a second show at the 1930s art deco venue.

The band�s UK tour � set to follow the September release of their eagerly anticipated new double album �Embryonic� � runs as below:

ALBERTA CROSS NEW SINGLE �TAKING CONTROL� RELEASED NOVEMBER 23RD

Alberta Cross are set to release new single �Taking Control� on November 23rd through Ark Recordings. Taken from their critically acclaimed debut album �Broken Side Of Time�, released last month, the track was described by The Fly as �a beautiful lulling rock number�. It sees the band showcase yet another helping of beautifully crafted rock, coloured with soulful acoustic touches.

�It�s about the big city and the draw to go out too much� explains guitarist/vocalist Petter Ericson Stakee. �The way we felt when we moved to New York City. About getting a bit messed up...the dark underbelly that sucks you in.�

Following support slots with Oasis, Dave Matthews band and Neil Young, plus festival appearances at Coachella, Bonnaroo, SXSW, Glastonbury and Lollapalooza, Alberta Cross� debut LP �Broken Side of Time� saw it�s much anticipated UK release on September 21st. Greatly received by press on both sides of the Atlantic, it took root in an April 2008 jam session and with the aid of a little drink and a little smoke, the five-piece jammed on a group of Stakee�s then-new songs with almost instant results. �I remember thinking that night, �This is gonna be insane,�� reminisces Stakee.

Their well-received debut EP, 2007�s The Thief & the Heartbreaker, was a modest, folk-minded, acoustic-based disc that garnered glowing reviews. But, for Stakee and bassist Terry Wolfers, it was a baby step. �Broken Side Of Time�, meanwhile, is a giant stride ahead, one that marks the band�s official introduction to America. Recorded in Austin, produced by the band with Mike McCarthy (Spoon, Dead Confederate, Heartless Bastards) & mixed by John O�Mahony (Depeche Mode, Coldplay, Kasabian) at Electric Lady Studios, the album melds propulsive, throbbing bass lines and crashing waves of guitar to a haunting, impassioned voice that can sound ancient and Appalachian.

Something of an about-face from The Thief & the Heartbreaker, the album, says Stakee, bears the influence of years of frustration logged in the shadow of Manhattan:

Violens announce the Winter Mixtape and uk shows

When White Lies asked Violens (pronounced 'vy-lenz') to join them on their November tour, Violens started thinking about creating something special to take to the UK with them. Having recently worked on remixes for numerous other bands who would in turn remix Violens, the New York band decided to collate these remixes with new tracks they have been playing at US shows. The result is their excellent Winter Mixtape which is available free at www.violens.net - the mixtape is a great way to understand all the influences and styles that inspire Violens' songwriting and is also a showcase for some great songs.

The Winter Mixtape features special tracks including remixes and covers of White Lies, Wire, MGMT, The Byrds, Caroline Polachek (Chairlift), Saint Etienne and My Bloody Valentine amongst unreleased songs by Violens. Lead singer of Violens Jorge Elbrecht says of the project; "a mixtape seemed like a really exciting vehicle for this stuff, especially if there was a way to incorporate other music that has informed or inspired Violens all this time".

The material sampled or rearranged for the mixtape presents an introduction of where Violens' influences stem from. Speaking of their innovative remix of The Byrds 'I See You' where the four piece add their own guitars plus vocals from My Bloody Valentine, Jorge adds; "as a songwriter/producer it feels just as gut-wrong as it does liberating and fresh to take a recording you love and try to join a new voice in with it, alter the structure, or twist it into something else all together". The mixtape shows, in Jorge, a songwriter and producer who is willing to push the boundaries of rock music to wonderful results.

Violens will be releasing their next single in February next year, the brand new track 'Until it's Unlit'. Catch them this week when they return to London for a few select shows before joining White Lies on their full UK tour.

DON DIABLO RELEASES NEW MIX-COMPILATION: SELLOUT SESSIONS 03

At the end of 2005, Don Diablo set up his own record label and event brand Sellout Sessions and successfully released his first mix-compilation through this label. Don Diablo started off as a DIY artist in 2005 to become one of Holland�s biggest exports, landing a much publicized worldwide 360 deal with Sony Music on his own terms in 2008. Right before he signed his new record deal, he released the second edition of the Sellout Sessions series.
Now, fast forward to November 2009 and you have got the forthcoming release of Sellout Sessions 03, which is the third chapter in the series. The new mix-compilation features a lot of exclusive remixes and tracks by Don Diablo, but also includes tracks and mixes by The Prodigy, Bloc Party, Simian Mobile Disco, Tiga, Cassius, Fake Blood and Stereo MC�s, to name but a few!

�This new mix-album is basically an overview of what I've been up to this year as a producer, remixer and DJ. Sellout Sessions 03 features some of my favourite remixes I did this year for artists like Cassius, Stereo MC's, Linus Loves, Cagedbaby, One eskimO, Dragonette and others. The mix also features three of my most successful dancefloor productions of this year: �Hooligans�, �Too cool for school�, �Disco Disco Disco� and a brand-new track called �Teen Scream Machine� which will be released in 2010. Add to that, he has been 'Most Blogged Artist' in the world several times this year, according to music blog aggregator The Hype Machine, and the blogosphere continues to love Don Diablo with over 4 million downloads in the last 9 months. Earlier this year, he already scored a song placement in hit TV-series CSI:NY and most recently signed a global administration deal with leading global independent music publisher Chrysalis Music. He just released a top 10 Aria Chart compilation, Neon Essentials Vol. 2, through Warner Music and earlier this year did the prestigious cover CD for DJmag, which also ranked him 137 in their renowned DJ Top 100 list; quite the achievement given his soundtrack as a DJ.

He has produced, composed, written and performed all the songs on his forthcoming debut album, Life is a Festival (Sony Music), which he recorded all by himself in his Amsterdam-based studio. With forthcoming tours through Australia, Asia, North & South America and a plethora of UK gigs, 2010 is looking to become an even bigger year for Don Diablo, who was recently called 'man-of-the-moment' by NME, 'a future star' by dance music connoisseur Pete Tong (BBC Radio 1) and even Kanye West is down with the Don, promoting Don Diablo's latest video on his infamous blog. The first big single from his album, �Where I belong (Life is a festival)� will be released early 2010 to launch his album. There will be no escaping Don Diablo in 2010!

Bang Bang Eche re-unite with Har Mar Superstar

After their recent stint on tour in the US with the ever eccentric Har Mar Superstar, the band have announced details of their impending reunion with the American singer at the newly re-opened Garage in London.

Bang Bang Eche were never going to let being from New Zealand�s South Island impede their success. For a band formed a little over a year ago, the distance covered by their tour bus is as impressive as their blistering impassioned live shows. Their unique brand of thrilling dance-punk has already caused a stir within the suitably awestruck audiences of the United States� CMJ Music Marathon and SXSW Festival, as well as the UK�s Great Escape and Sound City. Their recently released debut UK release �SONIC DEATH C**TTTT' is, as the title may suggest, a purposeful attempt to shake things up.

From the first few bars of opener �Fist Full of Dollars�, a sense of youthful urgency is unmistakable and instantly unshakeable. Extrovert front man, 20-year-old Zach Doney�s fast paced vocals are discharged with the same electrifying energy that distorts Charlie Ryder�s guitars and various synths. Backed by James Sullivan (Drums) and T�Nealle Worsley (Bass/ Guitar), the quartet combine elements of post-punk with dance bass lines to create an insubordinate adolescent offspring of the two genres.

Since the release of their debut self released, self-titled EP in 2008 (available online for free download), the past year has been non-stop and seen them open for The Faint as well as playing alongside Die! Die! Die!, Enter Shikari. Cut Off Your Hands and !!!. Traversing the USA, UK, Germany, Switzerland and Australia; BBE�s youthful exuberance and thirst for playing live has often led to multiple shows occurring on the same day and even two gigs in different venues within an hour. Their appearance at this years SXSW showcase in Texas was met by a swarm of excitable punters filling the venue within minutes as they showed what NZ had to offer, playing with fellow Kiwi Ladyhawke. The gig saw Zach narrowly avoid serious injury, leaping the length of the stage from the 10-foot speaker stack.

With all of the band members yet to turn 21, it�s unlikely they�ll run out of steam anytime soon...

School Of Seven Bells Announce Alternate �Alpinisms� out 23rd November + ICA show 4th

School Of Seven Bells release an alternate version of the acclaimed album �Alpinisms� on 23rd November and have announced a headline show at London�s ICA on the 4th December.

The reworked �Alpinisms� is available on download only and comprised of early demos, live performances and alternative versions of eight album tracks. It�s an intriguing listen as the process of the band�s songwriting and production is unraveled. This edition also has a bonus track, the mysterious �Caldo� sung in both English and Spanish (Claudia and Alejandra hail from both Central and South America). Previously a b-side to single �Half Asleep�, this song places more emphasis on the vocals than usual, revealing a cosmic medieval hymn backed by futuristic yet somehow ancient synths and harpsichord.
The band play a one off London show at the ICA on 4th December, where they will showcase new material from the forthcoming album (due in early Spring 2010) before heading off to appear at the My Bloody Valentine curated ATP.

You Say Party! We Say Die! XXXX

As 2006 saw a new wave of indie dance-rock hit the radars, with bands like the Klaxons, CSS, Crystal Castles and The Teenagers quickly hijacking the attentions of music lovers and critics all over the world, an up and coming five-piece from British Columbia named You Say Party! We Say Die! (or YSP!WSD! for short) were quickly developing a name for themselves minutes over the Northern borders of Canada (where they have currently been residing comfortably at #1 on college radio for the past 6 weeks). From their humble beginnings, this exciting, indie-punk five piece have worked fans into a dancing frenzy far and wide, from their home in a small Canadian farm town to overseas in Camden town.

You Say Party! We Say Die! began their days opening up for local bands in a church basement of their hometown of Abbotsford, just a short drive away from Vancouver, Canada. It was there that they steadily gathered a growing legion of loyal fans extending far beyond the basement, yielding a successful national tour and independently releasing their debut EP, 'danskwad' (pronounced: "dance-squad") in 2005 -- soon after they signed to Sound Document who sent them back to the studio to work on their debut album.

Two full lengths later, with plenty of lengthy and enjoyable yet equally exhausting tours behind them, the band decided to take some time off from the road in 2008 to record their newest album, XXXX signed to Paper Bag Records. Set for release in the US early next year, coupled with a pending US tour to coincide, You Say Party! We Say Die! are finally able to set their sights beyond the border for 2010.

XXXX is an energetic fusion of punk, dance-rock and grunge, with a mix of synthesizers and tech-heavy rhythms led by the ethereal vocal stylings of Becky Ninkovic. Likened to the sounds of groups like The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and an electro-charged Florence and the Machine, Pat Benetar, and Kim Wilde, You Say Party! We Say Die! teamed up with producer Howard Redekopp (Tegan & Sara, The New Pornographers) for an unforgettable album of unrelenting energy and vehemence.

However, despite having two full lengths in the bag since 2006, with several successful tours and various magazine covers across Canada beneath their belts already, the mystery of why this rousing five-some have been absent across these borders is a classic rock and roll tale.

Not far off from '66 when the Kinks, despite being coined as national treasures back home playing and developing a strong cult following across shores where they could not, faced the inconvenient reality of being "delisted" from playing in the US. YSP!WSD! were presented with a similar scenario, unable to spread their music and play across the borders and explore new territories until now.

After much patience and determination, You Say Party! We Say Die! are finally equipped with a brand new album and are raring to go, with a live show performance guaranteed to revive the spirit and vibrancy so lacking in so many of their contemporaries.
