"I love hearing about people fighting for their rights and making their dreams come true and manifesting change"
What is your favourite song(s) of the past year?
"Apologize" One republic, "A milli" Lil Wayne Jay-z etc, "Shootout" Michael Rose and Jr Gong, "Dying" Mavado
Name your favourite album of all time?
Bob Marley "Catch a fire", Rage Against the Machine first album, Red Hot Chilli Peppers "Blood Sugar Sex Magic" (very hard to leave out Jimi Hendrix, Jonny Cliff, Peter Tosh, Pink Floyd and Madonna).
Where do you buy music from- favourite destination and why?
Mostly record stores and Itunes. I actually like owning the physical copy of something that I like, plus I like going through the store and seeing what's new. Itunes is just the great for one I just want a single.
What book would you recommend that anyone go out and read?
Long Walk To Freedom by Nelson Mandela. It's the book I've read the most times in my life. He is so inspirational. I love hearing about people fighting for their rights and making their dreams come true and manifesting change, also I'm a sucka for African stories of success (which are hardly ever publicised).
Last amazing movie you watched?
Batman and No Country for old men. I love Christian Bale since I saw him in American Psycho. Javier Bardem deserved his Oscar for best supporting in that movie, he creeped me out!!!
Best concert you attended over the last year and what made it the best?
Ice Cube show I attended in the lower east side in NYC and also the Irie Jamboree (also in NYC- 20 thousand people) with Mavado and Sizzla headlining and me opening for them. Both those shows were rawwwwwwwwwwww energy with excellent showmanship. That's what I look for- energy, tight tunes and a crazy show. Irie Jamboree was especially crazy cause Mavado was allowed back in the USA for the first time since he got acquitted for murder in Jamaica. He started a stampede when he went on stage, the whole place lit up!!!
Number one moment of the past year?
Winning best international artist at the urban awards in NYC and getting songs placed on TV shows in all major networks in the US/Canada.
Proudest purchase from the last year?
Yea all my tight beats this year. My producer is my major expense.
!
Best venue to play music in -and- best venue to watch live music in?
I LOVE to perform in BB Kings and House of Blues. Also, the medley in Montreal has pretty good sound.
What is your current ringtone?
I don't have a cellphone!
Name an amazing website you would recommend to our readers, and why?
Antiwar.com because it gives you non partisan news you need to know. They always expose things before the general media get to know what's going on.
Anything else you want to promote?
Check me out at MySpace.com - Empire ISIS - MONTREAL & BROOKLYN, US - Pop / Hip Hop / Reggae - www.myspace.com/empireisis or on Itunes, if you like what you hear...support and get a song for a buck. Also my album is out January 13th 2009, thanks for everything, blessed love!
