Interview w/Deaf Havana & All Forgotten

Interview w/Deaf Havana & All Forgotten

"It’s a real complement. We’ve worked hard for the past two years and had amazing opportunities to play to large amounts of people. "

Two of the UK’s fastest rising bands, Deaf Havana & All Forgotten are just about to set off their amazing Tour across the UK. If your lucky enough to live nearby then it is advisable, if not necessary to attend one of the dates on the tour. Altsounds.com have been lucky enough to grab an interview with BOTH bands just before they kick off.

Look out for these guys in 09!

[altsounds] Are you all looking forward to the tour, what venue are you looking forward to playing the most?

[Deaf Havana = Ryan]
Yeh definitely there seems to be a good buzz about the tour so were all really excited, were currently just finishing up our dates with the WATO boys so were home for a couple of weeks then back out after some much needed rest.

Im personally just looking forward to everyone just hoping theres a good turn out and kids go crazy!

[All Forgotten]
Definitely, it’s a big opportunity for both of the bands. I think our crowds, although quite similar, can draw different people to the occasion, which gives us both a chance to play to new people as well as try our hand in headlining to the fans we already have.

For us it’d have to be London, purely because we’re headlining in our home which is always exciting.

[altsounds] "Two of the Uk's Hottest New Bands" How does that make you feel? Has all the hard work paid off?

[Deaf Havana]
Its getting their, theres obviously a very long way to go for both of us, but ive loved the AF boys for ages now, there defo one of my favourite bands around. So im hella excited about getting on the road and putting that saying to effect and proving our worth.

[All Forgotten]
It’s a real complement. We’ve worked hard for the past two years and had amazing opportunities to play to large amounts of people. So to get where we are is incredible. This is exactly where we want to be at the moment. I’m sure for Deaf Havana it’s the same thing, they are one of the most hard working bands we know, they were touring and paying their dues long before we were, and we’re really excited to be playing this tour with them.

[altsounds] Your tour is nine consecutive days, how are you going to keep yourselves entertained?

[Deaf Havana]
haha you dont wana know!

but seriously i just sleep allllllll day! when someone mentions touring to me the first thing that comes into my mind is sleeping and drinking!

But i would probably stay off the roads if you can cos with 2 big fuck off LDV vans being driven by complete bofoons its not a good idea to get in the way!

[All Forgotten]
Nakedness, pranks, taming, Ipods and sleep. Van taming too, AF vs DH on the motorways of England, it’s going to be amazing.

[altsounds] Any after parties planned when the whole tour is over?

[Deaf Havana]
When its over???

its gona be a constant party!!!

[All Forgotten]
Nothing set in stone for us as yet, but we don’t really plan things like that too far ahead, we just thrive it as it comes, which it definitely will.

[altsounds] I brought up Hair in the last interview with Ryan. So i feel i should follow the theme. How are you going to keep those dooo's in such great shape on the road?

[Deaf Havana]
short hair all the way! manageable!
but if your too cool to have short hair like most of the AF boys just grease it up and party!

[All Forgotten]
As if we’re going to give away our biggest secret? Who do you think you are?

[altsounds] Will anyone be keeping video diaries of this tour?

[Deaf Havana]
We always go out with the intention of making a video diary but were too busy sleeping to film! Also as soon as we turn on the camera nothing funny happens!

[All Forgotten]
We will be, we always do. We’re doing a Documentary type thing at the moment so some more tour footage won’t go a miss. We always somehow manage to get some camera gold as well, like Steve hungover in our July tour video with We Are The Ocean and Canterbury.

[altsounds] Any hidden surprises for the tour?

[Deaf Havana]
Well if you get down to a show youll find out wont ya! But yeh theres always suprises!!

[All Forgotten]

Cheeky. You’ll just have to wait and see! (thats a yes, new songs from our forthcoming EP ‘Transitions’!)

[altsounds] Having never done a tour personally, where the hell do you keep all your stuff? Both of your bands have alot of members, thats alot of suitcases.

[Deaf Havana]
Just dont take alot? one bag, and change ya pants every 3 days and your set!

as long as your not planning on any lady action you can do what you want!
actually thats a lie, on this tour at the minute our bassist's (Lee) feet have stunk soooooooo freakin bad! the smell seems to be now lodged in my nose!

[All Forgotten]
We tend to take it in turns being on the roof of our van, so that makes a little more room. We thought once about tying some of the suitcases to the roof, but a suitcase can’t call one of us telling us they’ve fallen off if such a thing were to happen, so yeah. We take it in turns.

This last one is for Ryan...

[altsounds] Have you thought anymore on Mecaphillia?

Chris did look into it, but has recently discovered that there are some freakin nasty diseases you can catch from having sex with an exhaust pipe?! nasty stuff!
