‘Toast The Tiger’is the first fruit to be taken from Eliza the Arrow’s forthcoming debut album, set to be released in the autumn via Tangled Up/One Little Indian Records.

Eliza the Arrow is changeable. Blame it on Elizabeth Grace Cameron and Donald Eugene Schroader III. Born in the 80’s, they are nostalgic as hell. After nearly a decade of playing in various art-rock contraptions (Forget Cassettes, ….And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead), these two individuals have taken up sooth-saying as an art form. When the parameters of being a rock-duo became confining they decided to embrace the other end of the musical spectrum. They prefer the term collaborators over band-mates, allowing the song and sonic imprint to come first and the performance to follow.

In this new incarnation you won’t hear the reminiscent guitar/ drums/ Rhodes/ bass formula as used on past releases. Trapping themselves in a studio with paintbrushes and lampshades, they wage a war between the organic and the electronic. They seek to liberate conventional instruments by twisting them into knots, giving them the opportunity to become something they never were before. Just ask yourself…what does it sound like when the rock dinosaur dies and you’re left to ponder the silence…R.I.P rock dinosaur, long live quiet storm.
