Well 2009 is now almost over, with Christmas just around the corner and 2010 creeping it's head slowly but surely closer. So how did 2009 treat us musically? It was actually a pretty great year for music. 2009 saw the emo and screamo bands disappearing and an insurgence of all things 80's and electro. On top of that there was some great indie kings and queens and metal seemed to be making a monstrous push closer to mass appeal with some amazing albums being released from that sector.

If 2009 is a showcase of things to come then 2010 is likely to be a very good year for music.
