Welcome to the first ever Three for Thursday, the fourth instalment in a weekly collection of articles designed to thrust some particularly awesome music your way. To start us off, I thought I'd stay true to us Brits and head over to Wales for the delights of the ravenous The Blackout.
After riding on the wave of popular British alternative rock, The Blackout have become one of the biggest bands in the UK. With great tracks which display the radio-friendly pop-punk elements with some damn good metal, the band appeal to pretty much everyone. Frontmen Sean Smith and Gavin Butler make the band hard to dislike with their Welsh banter a prominent feature of a Blackout concert.

So, let's start at the beginning, with their debut album from 2007, entitled We Are The Dynamite!..
Not bad, eh? Yeah, that's what I thought, and it's why I've been a fan of the Blackout ever since this most wonderful album came out on the shelves. Well, I suppose it's more internet these days, but you know what I mean.
We'll take a trip to their second album, The Best In Town now, from 2009...
The Blackout are touring like 97% of the time, so if you're liking what you hear, go see 'em! Rather impossibly, they're even better live. They put on one hell of a show. They are also playing Reading & Leeds Festival this year, so that's a reason enough to go buy a ticket!

Right, the last track of this fine Thursday, let's go with a little bit of their third and latest album, the marvellous Hope...
So why did I choose The Blackout? Well, firstly, check out those tracks, and you'll see why. They are one of the best British bands for years, in my opinion. Plus, there's the added bonus that if you're a Blackout fan, you're a cool kid. Get listenin'!
