Our 8^th One Hit Wonder comes from Althea & Donna with their single 'Uptown Top Ranking'. Althea Forrest and Donna Reid were just 17 and 18 years old at the time when the single reached the top of the UK charts in February 1978 where it stayed for a week. They also became the youngest ever duo to have a number one single in the UK.

Their follow up singles entitled 'Puppy Dog Song' and 'Going to Negril unfortunately failed to match the success of Uptown Top Ranking, their debut album of the same name did poorly and the pair disbanded in 1979. The track has been covered and remixed over the years and saw a resurgence in popularity 2003 when Abs, the former member of boy band Five sampled it on his solo single 'What you got.'
