This week has seen some exciting news in the world of music. Well it has for fans of Australian psych-groove outfit Tame Impala (of which I am one). An announcement has been made concerning the chilled out Antipodeans.
A new album is on the way in October and to usher in the sophomore LP, entitled Lonerism we are all being treated to a freebie taster before a first official single release.
So, the start of the weekend sees Apocalypse Dreams as the opening soundtrack, this gorgeous piece of spaced out, laid back pysch contains everything we have come to love and expect of Tame Impala and so much more. It retains the atmospherics and Kevin Parker's far away vocal stylings while also moving their sound forward.

The Story
Australian four piece Tame Impala released their debut album Innerspeaker in 2010 to critical and public acclaim. The release saw worldwide tour dates filled and festival appearances slayed.
Late 2011 saw the band begin the mixing of a new long player, most of this new material being recorded in France under producer Dave Fridmann (well known for co-producing with The Flaming Lips and Mercury Rev, as well as most recently with MGMT and The Cribs). This new album Lonerism will see the light of day sometime in October of this year, with the first official single release being Elephant out later this month. So until then let's have a friday bonus of Solitude Is Bliss. Happy blissed out weekend peoples!
