This stunning cover of 'A Girl Like You' the classic Edwyn Collins' song was released by the Mod-son Miles Kane as part of the Record Store Day happenings and it was recorded at Edwyn's own studio in London (the 7'' of this song also features a cover of Jerry Goldsmith’s 'Our Man Flint' as the b-side).
Miles' version brings us closer to a James Bond murder/love scene, while the melting guitar strums drive us through the almost reciting lyrics now performed with an irreverent tone, and the breaks kick in with the usual rock and roll power and 60's string vibration present in almost every track from Colour of the Trap, Kane's debut album. Do you think this version would make Collins proud?
