Dr. Dre, Girls Aloud, Flavor Flav and Janis Joplin
No more Detoxing?

Remember at the start of 2011 when the world’s greatest hip-hop producer released ‘I Need A Doctor’? Every rap fan in the world got excited at the prospect of Dr. Dre’s third and probably final solo album Detox, which has been in production for over a decade. It turns out the album has hit another wall. 50 Cent spoke in Paris when he was asked about it, and he seems to think it will end up being an EP. It would be quite a disappointing end to the career of the NWA founder and producer if that were the case.
SLAPPEEERRRRS ASSEMMMBLE. Riding the coattails of Kimberly Walsh’s ascension to mega-stardom on Strictly Come Dancing, Girls Aloud thought it quite timely to launch bid adieu. The rumours first started in Cheryl: My Story, the life-long, highly detailed autobiography of Cheryl Cole’s well established 29-years, but last week the internet heard a leak from something new, ‘Something New’. The girls confirmed ‘Something New’ would be one of four new songs to feature on the forthcoming Greatest Hits album.
Bad Taste

Never afraid of expressing his opinion about the police, Flavor Flav decided to get himself arrested this past week. Ever the romantic, the former Public Enemy cat-caller threatened his fiancée’s 17-year old with a knife and could face up to six years in jail if proven guilty. The news comes at a bit of a bad time as he and Chuck D were due to be nominated for induction in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Methinks this might affect their chance slightly, just another fight with another power.
Piece of her Heart

Thankfully, the rumours of a Janis Joplin biopic have resurfaced with Lee Daniels rumoured as the director. The man behind such brilliant movies like Precious and Paperboy linked, along with Amy Adams as the leading lady. Others to be rumoured with the role of Joplin have been Renee Zellweger, Zooey Deschanel and P!nk.
Bin Laden, Gaddafi and now the feud between Minaj and Carey

US President Barack Obama was doing the interview rounds and got asked about the feud between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey on Y100 Radio. Ever the great communicator, Obama said, “I’m all about bringing people together working for the same cause… I think that they are going to be able to sort it out. I am confident.” Lets hope his confidence stretches through his own Presidential candidacy, and nothing surprising derails his chances.
