Kurt Cobain, Girls Aloud, Adele, Obama & Putin

Cobain… The Musical!
Curse those Take That guys for successfully displaying a sense of longevity, now everyone wants to get in on the act. Kimberly Walsh has said Girls Aloud will never break up, to many people’s disappointment, and that she hopes the girls will do it “the Take That way”, maintaining solo careers and band responsibilities. As for Cheryl Cole’s announcement in her book, the girls are apparently in a different place and love each other more than ever. Yeugh.

Putin releases his inner Stalin
The Siberian gulags are some of the most feared prison camps in the world. Up there with Auschwitz and Dachau. And now it seems Pussy Riot will see out their remaining sentence in “the harshest camps of all the possible choices”. Maria Alyokhina will remain at Perm and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova will be send to Mordovia. Authorities have declined to say which specific prisons the women are being sent to, and whether or not they were part of the gulag system.
No official statement has been released and not a huge amount of detail is known apart from Adele has given birth, and the baby boy is happy and healthy. The 24 year-old’s first child is with boyfriend Simon Konecki. Best wishes to both.

Obama for Perrysident
As election season hots up, so does the propaganda. Katy Perry performed in Las Vegas during a re-election campaign for President Barack Obama. Her skin tight body hugged the singer’s curvy figure with the words “President of the United States” and two boxes; one for Mitt Romney and one for Obama with the latter filled in.
