AltSounds- Explain to us exactly what a "rev theory" is...

Julien - "Rev Theory" still stands for "Revelation Theory", we just shortened it because everyone who knows us calls us Rev theory anyways!

ALT- So, the new album, are you happy with how it's sounding so far?

J- Of course, we are really proud of this record. We worked our asses off writing and recording over the past year and I am excited with how it has turned out. Sonically it sounds pretty good.

ALT- What do you think fans will take away from listening to the new album?

J- I think the new album is very dynamic. There is a song for every mood. Hard rockin' anthems, introspective ballads, we wanted to make an album you could listen to all the way through, and we feel like there is a different emotion attached to every song.

ALT- What was the best part about working on the album?

J- Seeing it come together! Writing and recording is like being pregnant. You work so hard and it takes so long. The writing process is a very trying time and at the end of the recording process it feels like a child that you've given birth to! It's very satisfying, and you feel very proud of what you've done. The fun part is being in the studio and experimenting and seeing your ideas come to fruition.

ALT- What was it like to have “Light It Up” used as the official theme song for Wrestlemania 24?

S- It was a great honor to have our song "Light It Up" chosen for the theme song for Wretlemania. We grew up being wrestling fans so it was a great experience to be able to play at the event and do all the promo for it.

The WWE was great to us. It means a lot being a newer band and having a company like that give you a break. I feel like it was a great opportunity for us as a band and we all feel fortunate for it.

ALT- Did you get to hang out with those guys at the event? Are there any interesting stories?

J- We hung with Jesse and Festus, The Miz and Batista. It was pretty cool! We did a skit on TV with the Bad Guy Domino. He got pissed at us for stealing his couch. Then Jesse and Festus came in and "Saved the day!" [laughs] Pretty corny but it was funny.

ALT- What's in been like touring with Seether?

J- It's been great! Those guys are all awesome. We dig their band and Shaun Morgan was a big supporter of our first album. It's great that they are taking us out. I think the bill with us works great. We have definitely been warming up the crowd for them.

ALT- Are you looking forward to your upcoming tour? Can fans expect anything new from you?

J- We are pumped for our upcoming tour. We are about to go out with Drowning Pool for a run as well as a 10 years run! Then we are doing a bunch of Spring festivals. As far as anything new live, we are playing all new music and we have added a guitarist to the band -Rikki Lixx. He's a sick lead guitarist and it adds a new elememt to our live show. The world had better watch out!

ALT- What are your expectations and aspirations for the band for the coming year?

J- We are just taking this things day by day. There seems to be a lot of buzz behind our record, but for us its all about our live show. That's the only thing we feel like we can control.

We just want to go out every night, throw down, and earn the crowds. As far as everything else goes, we feel like we have great managers, a great label and team behind us so we'll just let things follow their course. At the end of the day it's all good.

We know this is definetely going to be a hell of a ride!

ALT- Is there anything you'd like to add that you feel I've missed out on?

J- I don't think we have any regrets. Things have truly happened for a reason for us. I know it sounds a little cliche but i think any opportunity that has fallen through has been because there was something else in store for us. If we had commited to a tour in the fall of 06 like we wanted to then we never would have had the Evanescence tour open up, which for us, was a huge break as far as major label interest goes.

It really makes you think about what your path is. The only thing I feel like we have missed out on is personal stuff. There is a lot of personal sacrifices that you have to make collectively in order to get to this point and sometimes when you look back you sometimes wonder if its all worth it. There is a song on our album called 10 years that addresses that particular sacrifice and reflection.
