General Baron of Horse The Band tells us about Mario and broken bones. Lead vocalist and chief moustache wearer Nathan Winneke had a few words to say to Altsounds about himself, Horse The Band and the new album "A Natural Death". ALTSOUNDS - Hey there. Hows things? Nathan - Things are capital! Thanks for asking! ALT - Who are you and why would Horse The Band not be able to function without you? My name is Nathan. I am the General Baron and it is my burning soul of regret and woe that is at Horse The Bands emotional center. ALT - So, "Nintendocore", that deserves a little explanation. Fierce, energetic post hardcore with expansive keyboard wondertones. ALT - Which one of you played Mario as a kid then? And who still does? All of us. Me. ALT - How do you feel about the current trend of bands just throwing a keyboard/synth player into the mix just for the sake of it? If they use it, then more power to them. If they are playing the same retarted shit they were before but with keyboards playing a stupid progression then your just being stylish. Kill yourself! ALT - My good friend wikipedia informed me that "A Natural Death" can be played in one seamless loop. What was the reason behind this desicion? Watch the Lion King. ALT - Out of all your material from your extensive back catalogue, whats the best song to play live and what does it offer that the other songs dont? The Black Hole. Air. ALT - You are well known for your raucous and enerjectic live shows. Has there been any serious injuries on this tour? Yes. I broke a bone in my shoulder when some kid decided I was going to crowd surf and threw me on his girlfriend who jumped out of the way all while I was singing "Sex Raptor" while flying horizontally through the air and then onto my skull. Im still not sure how that broke my shoulder. ALT - What does the future have in store for Horse The Band? WHAT AM I, A FUCKING GYPSY?!? ALT - And before we go our seperate ways is there anything you want to add that I may have missed? Flossing? |
