This is seriously one of my favorite bands ever. One of those that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, hot and sticky outside. Satisfaction have a ton of awesome shit going for them right now and I'm really excited to get to interview them before they are ginormous. I am pretty sure this interview on Altsounds will go down in history as 'What sealed the deal for Satisfaction.' We shall have a VH1 special dedicated to our tale. I need to stop smoking before I post interviews.

<me>So when/how did you guys get together?</me>
<satisfaction>James, Michael and I have played in different bands together before. The three of us had a couple of ideas for songs, no real idea of how the band should sound. We looked for and found a great bass player in Aaron in late 2003. By early 2004, we were Satisfaction and playing shows.</satisfaction>
<me>How many releases do you have under your belt and when can we expect another one?</me>
<satisfaction>So far we have only released “For Men and Women”, a 4-song EP. We are in the middle of recording a second 4-song EP, and obviously are gearing up for an album in the coming months.</satisfaction>
<me>You write some of the catchiest songs I have heard in a long time, how do you come up with it??</me>
<satisfaction>Evil magic. When one of us has an idea the others like, we run with it. Each song takes on its own life and we’re not happy with a song until each of us likes every aspect of it. No one gets offended one of the other guys suggests a part for them. Egolessness plays a big role when we write.</satisfaction>
<me>You guys are from the Los Angeles area, do you find it more difficult to get noticed in such a competitive musical environment?</me>
<satisfaction>We haven’t really noticed a competitive environment in L.A. I’d rather be very good in L.A., than very good in Peoria! In L.A. we’ve noticed more of a sense of camaraderie than competitiveness.</satisfaction>
<me>What sort of music do you guys listen to? What are some of your favorite bands of the moment?</me>
<satisfaction>I’d say we listen to music from previous decades way more often than current artists. As far as current artists, we dig: The Mars Volta, The Strokes, Coldplay, The Like, Queens Of The Stone Age, Ben Folds, Rufus Wainwright, Cake, Spoon, Radiohead, N.E.R.D., …</satisfaction>
<me>How often do you tour? What are some of your favorite places to play?</me>
<satisfaction>We’re mainly focusing on the West for now, with trips up and down the coast and out to Vegas and Arizona. We’re about to make our second trip to New York, which is definitely one of our favorite places to play. Locally, we love the Casbah in San Diego and the Silverlake Lounge and The Troubadour in LA.</satisfaction>
<me>How would you describe a Satisfaction show? What can people expect?</me>
<satisfaction>30 minutes of rock, sweat and tears, and maybe some dance moves from Aaron if you’re lucky. We’ll probably tell you a few white lies about what songs are about too. Heckle us and you will witness our rapier wit and you’ll want to crawl into a hole and die.</satisfaction>
<me>I know you guys have landed some good placement deals, where can people hear you guys?</me>
<satisfaction>I don’t think we’re in a VW commercial yet. Other than that, pretty much everywhere is where you can expect to hear us.</satisfaction>
<me>There has been an industry buzz surrounding your band for a little while now and you have a ton of label showcases coming up, what kind of feedback have you been getting from people and what do you see in the future for Satisfaction?</me>
<satisfaction>People really like our songs. That’s good because we really like our songs. These songs will make a smokin’ album when the time is right. The future for Satisfaction involves putting out a record and getting on the road to play for the people in the middle who haven’t seen us yet.</satisfaction>
<me>You have a really great video for your single Nothing Oh Nothing. Who did your video and where can people see it?</me>
<satisfaction>Our friend Matt Michael made the video for Nothing, Oh Nothing as a college project. It’s better than most $100,000 videos I see on MTV. Our good friend Robert Giampa who gets the shave in the video, was instrumental off-screen as well. The video is on AltSounds, and will always be up on our ebsite.</satisfaction>
<me>That’s about it for interview questions..if you have anything else you would like to add, feel free!</me>
<satisfaction>See you at the Grammys
