Altsounds - The Feelings Mutual's Brandon Jensen tells us about his life.

With a brand new EP ready and waiting for you to hear, we caught up with The Feelings Mutual bassist Brandon to ask him about his band, his life and anything else we could think of.

Altsounds - For people out there who (foolishly) don't know enough about you, can you describe your sound.

Brandon - It's hard for me to say what I think we sound like, I feel like that makes me sound like a total douche. I know that the band shares a lot of similar influences and I know that those tend to come out from time to time. Some of our favorites include The Pixies, Dinosaur Jr, Nirvana and The Smashing Pumkins…We were kids in the 90's, I guess we never really got over those first few bands that got us off.

I found it almost impossible to find any biographical information about the band. Tell the readers what you think they ought to know about you.

I answered a "male seeking male" ad on craigslist in Sep. '07. Apparently it was Jordan looking for a male who played bass. We have been together ever since.

What is your biggest ambition as a band?

For people to hear our music and to love our songs.

Would you prefer to be number 1 in the download chart, singles chart or the album chart, and why?

Any of those sound very cool, I am not sure though… I would say being #1 on the album chart would be rad because it seems to show consistency in your project. It shows that more than just one song can rock people. Downloads are cool too…?

What's your opinion on Greatest Hits albums?

I love Queen's. Freddy Mercury was a cool looking cat with sweet pipes. Other than that I have no real formulated opinions on this topic.

If you could perform an intimate gig for one person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

Cheesy. I'll be the one to say Kurt Cobain. I really would not even want to play an intimate gig for him, I would much rather just talk/play music and do some drugs with him.

How did you feel when the first copy of your EP was sold?

Did we sell one already?

The names of your songs are all very unusual. What process do you go through to name a song?

First I come up with the names. Then Jordan tells me that the name is stupid and then he comes up with a better name.

What do you remember about your very first time in the studio?

I remember being pretty excited as the first songs (which were only ideas at the time) came to life and began to take form. We had our own ideas about the direction of each song, but it was truly amazing watching each one develop its own personality.

What does the future hold for The Feeling's Mutual? What can the fans expect?

A full length album and some good tour dates. Hope to see you soon.
