About Me:
Hit me up with a message on here or an IM! <br /> My name is Angela, but you can call me AJ. It's a name I picked up in my radio days, and it stuck. I've been a part of the music industry in some form or fashion since 1999. My early years were split between radio stations and record labels, and I started developing and managing artists in 2001. While I've never had much interest in working with mainstream acts, some of the artists I've developed found at least a temporary home on major labels. Artist development has influenced everything I've done in music, including my partnership with Chris Maguire to form Altsounds. Coming together in 2004, we have been able to apply our varied backgrounds and diverse skill sets to create a site that started as a reaction to the poor design and corrupt motives of other music websites, but has become the most credible and media-rich international music site on the internet. 2009 will feature a weekly column titled 'Declassified.' This series will explore the many dramatic changes that have taken place in the music industry over the last few years and what it means for the future. It will also include tips and advice for artists trying to make a career for themselves in this difficult time and a bit of a road map to help navigate this complicated landscape.
