Rob H's Blurb

About Me:
My main hobby is litening to music. I try to listen to 2 to 5 hours of new music each day (or new to me, anyway) while I'm working and I love turning people onto what I find, so thanks for reading.

Who I'd Like To Meet:
Jeff Tweedy, Van Morrison, Jack White, Chrissie Hynde, Jon Fishman, David Bowie, Jon Stewart, Beck Hansen, Jean-Michel Jarre, Clarence Greenwood, Common, Mike Doughty, Lupe Fiasco, Danger Mouse, Sam Prekop, Mark Mothersbaugh, Brandon Boyd, Evan Dando, David Hidalgo, Sting, Natalie Portman,

Rob H's Interests:

General:
Hiking, sushi, literacy, and music.

Music:
Well, I probably won't be updating this as often as what I'm listening to changes, so I'll list some of my all-time faves instead. Van Morrison, Phish, Wilco, Bowie, Queen, Gomez, Beck, XTC, Jean-Michel Jarre, and Georg Phillip Telemann.

Movies / TV:
Evil Dead II is my favorite horror movie of all time. I'm a big fan of Grosse Point Blank (though music heads may enjoy High Fidelity more). The best movie I can think of that most people haven't seen is Akrika Kurosawa's Ran.

Books:
Three great authors. Fantasy: Gene Wolfe Sci Fi: Iain M. Banks General Fiction: David Mitchell

I actually used to listen to more when I was working for a bank downtown. I would go to the library every day at lunch and pick up 5 new discs. I went though the entire Popular Music collection at the Cleveland Public Library's main branch. Took me 2 years at 2 - 5 discs per day.

These days I'm not working so I'm volunteering at a couple local schools and fixing up my house. It cuts into my listening time. It's steadily 2 hours a day, though.
