People screamed, cried hysterically and quite a few fainted.
I must admit I was one of the thousands who took part in crashing the ticket websites. Ultimately though I just did it for the opportunity to see a living legend perform, I don't have any bond to Jackson or his music so was not upset or surprised when I was unsuccessful in my ticket purchasing. Some people however, are more than willing to pay £1000 for two tiny tickets! In a time when people are losing their jobs, their houses and their consumerism lifestyle - is this not a wee bit crazy?


What do you think? What's the most you've paid to see a band/performer? And how much would you pay to see your favourite performer if you'd never seen them before and this was the last opportunity?

I personally think anything over 100 quid is a bit ridiculous to spend on a ticket.

That is pretty ridiculous for that price. He aint going to be anything near the quality performer he was when he was younger, and i doubt he will even make the whole tour. Is it somehting like 40 dates he is doing? Thats mental.

As for highest price i think was Chilli peppers back in '06, i think that was £35 .

Although my parents paid around £40 for Lionel Richie i think, Mental.

I paid something like £150 for two tickets to see Madonna one year, and it was worth every penny.

I think I paid 80 squid for him, and that's the absolute max I would ever pay for any one gig...unless we start considering superbands or reunions that is...

£80 aint too bad. What do you consider as a 'Superband' . We already have take that and boyszone :-P

I tried for hours, was even up at 7am on the day they came out for general sale, but nothing. Ticketmaster handled it very badly. As for the extortionate prices, as much as I love the guy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCcNrCTavi4), I'm not willing to pay over £100, especially for a seat so far away, you might as well watch him on YouTube.

Yeah, somehow managed to get pretty decent tickets (well, they were expensive enough, so they better be!) in the pre-sale! I'm trying not to make any predictions as to quality of his performance though, take it for what it is, you know.

And as for superbands (...now that talk of Robbie coming back for good is off the cards that is...) I'm thinking I'd pay well over recommended retail to see a mash up of Met, Kings of Leon and the remaining CCR members!
Although, you'd think I would have learnt my lesson after the superband debacle that was Rockstar: Supernova...indeed a waste of good ticket money.
