Nine Inch Nails supposedly play last Festival gig in UK?

So last night Nine Inch Nails played T In The Park...

According to NME this was said:

Frontman Trent Reznor announced at the end of last year that the band would wrap up touring for good this year, with tonight's show the last UK festival date scheduled for the band before they supposedly wrap up live action.
Now I think either NME or Trent seems have to forgotten that NIN are supposed to play Sonisphere August 2nd...

If it is the NME it wouldn't be the first time this week they've messed up a headline in order to gain hits... earlier on in the week the guitarist and bassist of Panic at the Disco left, despite the full statement by the band at that time saying that the singer and drummer would remain NME's headline was for the first hour:

'Panic at the Disco split'

I like to think that having a small rant about the mistake there on Twitter helped a tiny insignificant amount because an hour or so later it became:

'Two members of Panic at the disco leave'

I've mentioned it to Sonisphere's twitter to see exactly what's happening... have to wait and see!

EDIT: Sonisphere's twitter rep believes (same as I do) that it's more NME making another 'mistake' to gain hits...

Update: NME now rename the article as 'last ever scottish show'... proof readers I think are needed...
