Black Sheep Wall to release debut album 'I Am God Songs' on Shelmusic October 20th

Black Sheep Wall to release debut album 'I Am God Songs' on Shelmusic October 20th
BLACK SHEEP WALL set to release debut album ‘I Am God Songs’ on Shelmusic, October 20th/ UK Nov tour with Mirimar Disaster and Latitudes
‘After typing "Black Sheep Wall", Brian was able to see the entire map, including the zergling rush about to devour his army.’

George Carlin once wrote, "I like young people, they're all f***ed up", and while healthy, young, introspective, pot smoking college students they may be, BLACK SHEEP WALL, who are now set to release debut album ‘I Am God Songs’ on Shelmusic, October 20th (with a UK Nov tour with Mirimar Disaster and Latitudes to come afterwards), echoes and expresses the sentiment.

Sharing common interests, which included weed, video games and nihilism, (and weed) the 4 bright young hopes found common ground in their appreciation of heavy noises produced by such bands as Neurosis, Will Haven, Cult of Luna, Meshuggah, Mastadon, ISIS and SUNN O))) and more. Named after a high end, computer game cheat for the online game ‘Starcraft’, guitarist Scott Turner, drummer Jackson Thompson and bassist Brandon Gillickbauer formed BLACK SHEEP WALL in early 2007 in their hometown of Moorpark CA (just outside of LA). Musically, the band combine the raw blistering power of Will Haven with the down-tuned deformations of Meshuggah and Neurosis. BLACK SHEEP WALL is the tortured, ugly bi-product that was dumped away for everyone’s safety.

After a year of gaining dust on the ipods of friends and other local bands, the 9 tracks from the debut album ‘I Am God Songs’ eventually emerged past the inner circle and the band was approached in May by Los Angeles based label Shelsmusic to distribute the album internationally. Having recently played with the likes of The Red Chord, Converge & Baroness at this year’s Murder Fest in Los Angeles, Black Sheep Wall delivers brutal doses of aural savagery so intense that you’ll be drinking your dinner through a straw.

Look out for the band live in the UK for the first time in November with Mirimar Disaster and Latitudes.

For fans of:Meshuggah, Will Haven, Neurosis, The Red Chord, Converge, Cult of Luna
