Opus Dai Splits from Double Blind, goes on tour
August 26, 2008, 11:04 AM   Opus Däi has parted ways with their label, Double Blind Music, and are now planning to release a new EP on August 30th through Fire Fly Music. The EP, entitled “Touch the Sun”, will mark the bands first release with their new singer Tim Neighbors and bassist Murv Douglas. The band is currently in the studio finishing the mixing process with producer/engineer Jun Murakawa. The CD release show will be held at The Roxy Theatre in Hollywood on August 30th. (More info: http://www.myspace.com/opusdai ) The band will be touring this September in support of the new EP and are teaming up with the Surfrider Foundation (http://www.surfrider.org/) to help raise awareness of coastal environmental issues. Surfrider will be involved in most of the shows on the tour, as the band is mainly targeting coastal beach town venues. "Touch The Sun" marks the 1st effort from Opus Däi since their debut LP "Tierra Tragame" in 2006. The 5 song EP is also the first release to feature new singer Tim Neighbors and bassist Murv Douglas along with founding members Atsushi Miyamoto and Jagger Gonzales. With a new line up you can certainly expect some surprises on this effort.
