Angel Pier release new single “Emily”
Angel Pier, make a discordant noise through unhinged classic pop melodies. Three parts Irish to one part Canadian, Angel Pier layer looping drums and brooding bass, a confrontational guitarist with severe riff-tourettes & a melancholic vocalist with dark lyrical tendencies.
The band have been kicking up a storm in North America since playing the prestigious
CMJ festival and have picked up invitations to
SXSW, Canadian Music Week and
NXNE so far this year, also securing a North American distribution deal with
Fontana Distribution.
The bands Debut EP, “Bullet Holes & Broken Sectors" EP was produced by Kieran Lynch (U2, Elvis Costello, REM) and was well received by the media.
Angel Pier’s follow up EP "Sacrifice", with veteran producer Leo Pearson at the desk, is due October 2008. Described as
“an intricate affair that swoops and soars like an ecstatic swallow that has just had a wing mended” (
Mp3Hugger), the Sacrifice EP has already been receiving glowing reviews from popular music blogs around the world. Emily is the lead single to be taken from the Sacrifice EP.
