NEW YORK, NY (September 2, 2008) – Only weeks after being certified gold, Secondhand Serenade’s “Fall For You” cracked the Top 10 on the Pop Radio Charts, being the #9 most played song in the country! Secondhand Serenade’s “Fall For You” marks the first Top 10 single for Secondhand Serenade and the band’s independent label, Glassnote Records.
“This is classic artist development through touring and building of a loyal fan base. It’s a significant achievement and I am very proud of Secondhand Serenade,” comments Glassnote Records founder Daniel Glass.
Secondhand Serenade, aka John Vesely, was the #1 unsigned artist on MySpace for a number of months before being the first artist to sign with newly formed Glassnote Records. Glassnote released Secondhand Serenade’s acoustic debut, Awake (Glassnote/ILG), on February 6, 2007.
The sophomore album A Twist In My Story (Glassnote/ILG, 2/19/08) was released nearly a year after Awake hit streets, and debuted at #44 on the Billboard Top 200. The album has recently re-entered the chart and is steadily climbing. “Fall For You” is currently #13 on the iTunes Top 100 songs and #2 on iTunes’ Top Alternative songs. Secondhand Serenade has performed the song on Late Night With Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live and the CBS Early Show, and will be touring the U.S. this fall.
