Glasgow's Attic Lights have announced details of the release of a new single, Wendy, through Island Records on October 6th 2008.
Released on CD and 7", the single also features the b-sides Shiver The Trees & Summer Girlfriend alongside remixes of Wendy by The Fratellis, Camera Obscura and The Vaselines.
The Vaselines mix, the first ever done by the legendary Glasgow band, is currently available as an exclusive stream via Pitchfork ( "Wendy (The Vaselines Mix)" [Stream] | Pitchfork )
The single is followed on October 13th by the release of the band’s debut album, Friday Night Lights. The ten-track album, recorded in Glasgow in the Autumn of 2007 with local man about town and drummer with local heroes Teenage Fanclub Francis Macdonald at the helm, also features luscious string arrangements courtesy of Bjorn Yttling of Peter, Bjorn & John Fame.
Attic Lights also play NME Club Koko on September 12th and have also announced details of a UK tour starting in October. The dates, which follow the release of their debut album Friday Night Lights on October 13th through Island Records, see the band support Paul Heaton.
