We The Kings announce teeny tiny instore!!
WE THE KINGS ANNOUNCE LONDON INSTORE AT NEW EASTPAK STORE
Self-titled album ‘We The Kings’ is out now Tour with The Academy Is… in progress (Virgin Records)

Following a storming first trip to the UK back in May of this year, We The Kings are back in the UK and this time they also have a record in stores! The album was received rapturously in the States and it’s now time for the band to take on the UK for real. The band’s very first live performance on UK shores was at the Slam-Dunk festival in Leeds where they played in front of over a thousand cheering bodies.

The day after their official London show as main support to The Academy Is… this coming Wednesday, the exuberant Floridians who make up We The Kings will be playing an exclusive in-store acoustic set at the new Eastpak store on Carnaby Street. Doors are at Midday and only the first 50 lucky people to turn up will be admitted to the performance.

We The Kings hail from Bradenton, Florida in the USA and whereas most kids fight against their hometown and think the grass is greener outside of where they grew up, the four guys in the band embrace their upbringing, showing all sorts of love for their hometown on their self-titled debut disc. They have even been asked to throw out the first pitch at a Tampa Bay Rays game and to top it off, the mayor of Bradenton will be giving them the key to the city.

While still unsigned, We The Kings' songs took top spots on Purevolume charts. In 2007, the band inked a deal with S-Curve Records in the States and went into the studio to create their debut, produced by S*A*M and Sluggo (Gym Class Heroes, Cobra Starship) and mixed by Lou Giordano (Plain White T's, Taking Back Sunday) and Tom Lord-Alge (Fall Out Boy, Blink-182). Time in the studio gelled the band's already energetic and tight sound. Instantly addictive tracks such as ‘Whoa,’ ‘Check Yes Juliet’ and ‘Stay Young’ brim with youthful vibrancy and enthusiasm, clocking in at short and sweet three-minute bursts. "We wanted every track on the record to be the strongest it could be. And for us, that means you get in, make your point and get out," says Clark. "We also really wanted the record to represent the kids that we are. We're uplifting, we love to have a good time and we love music." But that doesn't mean the songs are lacking substance. ‘Skyway Avenue’ "Is a metaphor about taking the ultimate chance for a relationship or a friendship," says Clark. "If you jump, I'll jump with you. It means it will be forever."

With their history and pride in their pockets, Travis, Hunter, Drew and Danny are more ready than ever to bring a little bit of Bradenton good times to the rest of the world. "This is a fun record, but we also wanted to make it as timeless as we could. It's hard to think in 20 or 30 years what songs people are going to remember from this time. We aimed to make those kinds of songs," says Clark. "I guess in 20 years we'll know if we did it."
