NEW ALBUM OUT OCTOBER 14

LOS ANGELES CA September 16, 2008 — New Jersey lovers HOUSTON CALLS’ latest and greatest, The End of an Error releases October 14, 2008.The End of an Error CD release performance and signing is at Vintage Vinyl October 13th at 7pm.Vintage Vinyl is located at 51 Lafayette Rd in Fords NJ.

Produced by Mark Weinberg (former member of Gratitude and Crumb), The End of an Error is worth the wait. The releaseis a follow up to the full-length debut, A Collection of Short Stories out in 2005 which sold 50K units world wide. The songs possess expressive lyrics (written by lead singer Tom Keiger, keys master Okie Okamato, and newest member, guitarist Jose Lopez) and the easy hooks and melodies that have always been Houston Calls’ trademark. Now, there are some years of experience and growth that gives the songs weight. The songs are about girls and relationships, but more deeply, the lyrics are about girls and the band’s most serious relationship of all – music.

The album opener, “Modest Manifesto,” is reminiscent of early Houston Calls, but the lyrics bring Houston Calls to the present, hitting heavily on the album’s main theme of dealing with a difficult time in life as well as the pitfalls of the music business while not giving up or giving in.Despite the frustrations, the band perseveres and maintains.“The [Bouncing] Souls have taught me to love the music – sadly to a generation that’s confusing/I will not be sold.”With its galloping bass and guitar lines “A Shot In The Dark” is a bittersweet love song that recognizes that alone is tough but together sometimes isn’t enough either.“Life Won’t Wait” is an ode to change and the way it kicks your ass.“The best times of my life are just beginning/Getting knocked around but it’s ok.”“Abandone” is THE anthem of the album chanting, “We all. We fall. Don’t stop.”The band feels End of an Error is a nice natural progression from Collection.Lead singer, Tom Keiger explains, “I think you can definitely hear ‘us’ in the recording. We know we’ve grown. We think old fans will be happy and those who weren’t fans before, hopefully we’ll win ‘em over.”

Houston Calls has toured extensively in the United States, Europe, Japan, and Australia. As a direct result of all those odometer tics, the UK release date for The End of an Error is October 13 (Drive-Thru Records) and the record will be released October 7 in Japan (In-N-Out Records).

In the US, HOUSTON CALLS has shared the stage with The Rocket Summer, Hellogoodbye, All American Rejects, Boys Like Girls, and The Higher. The guys have done exceptionally well in Australia supporting Yellowcard and MXPX in sold out shows and performing at the Soundwave festival with Thrice, Plus 44 and The Deftones.

HOUSTON CALLS will tour the UK October 15-30.Their last stint was two weeks of sold out shows in support of Hellogoodbye and Plain White T's.After wrapping in the UK, the band will tour the US until the end of the year and then off to Australia.

HOUSTON CALLS is Tom Keiger (Vocals, Guitar), Jarrett Seltzer (Bass), Ryohei “Okie” Okamoto (Keyboard, Vocals), Jose Lopez (Guitar), and Joshua Grigsby (Drums).
