TO BE THEME FOR LOGO'S "BRUNCH WITH BRIDGET"
Sick Of Sarah's hard-edged, beat-driven single, "I'm Not Listening," has been selected as the new theme song for "Brunch with Bridget," starring Bridget McManus which will henceforth be airing on Logo, as well as on AfterEllen.com.
Sick Of Sarah, the all female power punk quintet, released their self-titled debut album on August 12th through LA-indie Adamant Records. The band has drawn steady national and cyber attention since being featured on the front page of the Rock section at iTunes. They've garnered a staff pick at Napster and a front page look at Artist Direct. National magazines as diverse as Spin and Marie Claire have touted them, and most recently Venus, a national magazine out of Chicago, in a 4 out of 5 star review, said their self-titled album is "sure to cheer up the most down-trodden or musically cynical."
"Brunch with Bridget" will follow the format of McManus' already popular video blog, in which she takes the unconventional and hilarious approach to interviewing celebrity guests...in her bed. Each week, guests don their favorite bedtime apparel and join McManus in bed as she and "Baby Bridget," McManus' co-host and stuffed Teddy Bear, talk about life, lesbians and pop culture, followed by a requisite farewell pillow fight. This season's celebrity guests will include Julie Goldman (The Big Gay Sketch Show), Maeve Quinlan (90210), and renowned comedienne Suzanne Westenhoefer.
Sick Of Sarah, the latest great band to come out of the Twin Cities, draws huge crowds in clubs throughout their home base where record stores are having trouble keeping their eponymous debut album in stock. Minnesota's largest paper, Star Tribune said the band has a "fun outlook but a serious, radio-friendly sound." And local weekly, The City Pages lauded the album, "there's enough strong-voiced punky girl-rock goodness to ensure this critic many more hours of dorkily bouncing in his cubicle chair."
The band whose live show is impeccable and never fails to charm the most jaded concert-goer, recently won Best Emerging Artist at this years Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sick Of Sarah was awarded this honor after winning over the festival crowd whose texts determined the winner from the Emerging Artist stage.
