SINGLE OUT TODAY
The Streets' new single, Everything Is Borrowed, was released this very morning. Click here to check out the artwork. Nice trees. The flipside of the single is the Micachu and the Shapes re-working of the track. If you'd like to download it from the iTunes, click here. Of if you prefer your music on compact discs, click here to get the single from HMV (with free delivery). WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE BORROWED BY THE STREETS?
If you're coming to see The Streets on the UK tour next month, then Mike has a proposition for you. Those attending the shows in Glasgow, Birmingham, Newcastle and Nottingham are being asked to bring along something to lend to Mike. If he picks your thing and takes it on stage, then you and a friend will be borrowed by The Streets. You'll then party with the fellas until the following day's gig (you'll also be sorted with a hotel room and the journey home). If that sort of madness sounds appealing, you'll need to email a picture of yourself and the item you're lending to beatstevie@mac.com. For the full lowdown on the contest read the joint Skinner/Mayhem MySpace blog on the subject here. BRIXTON SHOW ANNOUNCED
The Streets are heading back to the scene of much previous merriment for a show at the Brixton Academy on January 29th 2009. If you'd like to come along, you can buy tickets here. Judging by past experiences, it's likely to be a messy one. THE STREETS ON YOUR TELLY
On Tuesday night, The Streets are playing live on Later...With Jools Holland on BBC2 at 10pm. If you're busy that night (and you live in the UK) you'll be able to catch up with the show on the Beeb's iPlayer for seven days afterwards. And if you missed The Streets South Bank Show special the other week, you can still watch exclusive behind-the-scenes stuff from it at ITV's website, here. DODO ON YOUR DONGLE, SIR?
Those of you who've forked out for the USB stick version of Everything Is Borrowed have a little treat in your special area (so to speak).
Head over there to see the exclusive video for 'The Way Of The Dodo'. If you don't have the dongle, you can see a clip of the video on YouTube, here. The full video will be added on October 6th. Until then, if you've got a spare 25 quid to shell out for a critically-acclaimed album on a high-tech bit of kit shaped like a lighter, then click here to get it from Play.com.
And we're off.
