Much of The Foxes early fanbase was built up from two very significant Myspace music features, thanks to which they attracted thousands of new listeners and their gigs got busier and busier. With repeat support from XFM and Radio 2 for their Lover, Killer EP, the live side kicked off in a big way and promoters, including Alan McGee, got hot under the collar to book this hotly tipped London four piece. The Foxes were offered a number of supports, including The Magic Numbers, Royworld and The Draytones, and after extensive UK touring they hit the road in the U.S in October 2007 and worked across the states peaking at two shows in Austin, Texas where the band were asked to come back and play SXSW 2009. Back in the UK The Foxes were asked to play shows with Glasvegas and Yeti and when they brought so much to the shows, the band were invited to join Yeti’s 30 date UK tour in January 2008. The Foxes recorded this single Trauma Town with some of the best names in the business at Eastcote Studios (Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys) mixed by Sam Williams (Supergrass, The Go! Team, Kula Shaker) and mastered by John Davies (Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, The Enemy). To do these recordings justice the record will of course be on limited edition 7” vinyl and download, with cover artwork hand designed by bass player Alex Douglas. The Foxes will catch you with a left hook of gritty jaunty rock ‘n’ roll dusted with some really rather threatening lyrical licks. Chris Welch, who was a key writer for Melody Maker, became an early fan of The Foxes after seeing them headline at The Purple Turtle in London, and has been heralding this release saying… "The Foxes have vibrant songs and a blistering stage show. The hunt for a great British rock band is over" The Foxes are continuing to play a huge amount of shows around the country including a number of boutique festivals such as Wickerman, Rhythm Festival, Nozstock, Boring by the Sea, and City Roots. "It’s clear that The Foxes have the talent and confidence to make a huge impact on the UK music scene" NME MySpace.com - The Foxes - London, UK - Rock / Indie / Pop - www.myspace.com/thefoxesband www.thefoxesband.com | |
