I chose to do a painting of Barack Obama because when I hear him speak I feel a sense of inspiration and awe. I've never experienced that feeling from a public figure before. I think 'this is what it must've been like to hear Dr. King or Kennedy speak when they were alive.' I feel he has the presence of mind and intelligence to tackle all of the issues and problems we face as a country today."
