In a move that’s both innovative and intimate, Capitol Records quintet Saosin joined with global youth brand Hurley to record demos for their upcoming album in Hurley’s Costa Mesa, California studio that began in mid-September – and to brought all of their fans right into the recording sessions through a real-time, multi-camera audio/video feed from the Hurley studio. The initial six-day schedule of tracking and songwriting has been streaming live and unedited daily at Hurley.
In addition, video blogs and contests are based on the webpage. Saosin fans will also be able to hear more of the newly-composed tracks live on stage as the band joins Underoath beginning Oct. 15th for a six-week series of tour dates stretching from coast to coast (full schedule below). Saosin have recorded a brand new EP entitled The Grey EP featuring 3 new songs recorded in the Hurley studio and an acoustic version of their previously released track “Come Close.” The Grey EP will be sold exclusively on tour and Hurley. The band hopes to start recording their second full length album following the outing with Underoath.
