Frank Turner - LLTQ, The First Three Years and tours galore! Just as new single ‘Long Live The Queen’ is added to the Radio 1 playlist and is made Record Of The Week by Sara Cox (covering for Jo Whiley); Frank can proudly announce details of some really exciting tours and further releases coming up soon! Already making plans for next year, Frank has been personally invited to support The Gaslight Anthem tour in Europe. Currently enjoying the success they deserve with their fantastic ‘The 59 Sound’ album, The Gaslight Anthem are big fans of Frank and this will be a fantastic tour running through the month of February. Full dates overleaf. Back to this year though and Jo Whiley extends her support by inviting Frank to be a part of her Mencap Little Noise Session in November. These exclusive acoustic gigs take place in London’s magnificent Union Chapel and has previously seen unique performances from Noel Gallagher, U2, Amy Winehouse plus many more. Frank will be playing on the same night at Biffy Clyro on 12th November. The rest of November sees Frank tour Europe with band and label mate Chris T-T as the two of them jump in a car and travel round Ireland, Italy and Switzerland playing duo shows. Then on 1st December, Frank will release ‘The First Three Years’ through Xtra Mile Recordings – a super special collection of songs brought together for the first time. Not only does is include all of Frank's early commercial releases but also a wealth of other material from session tracks to demos to previously unreleased live favourites recorded for the first time. 24 tracks and a host of memories that beautifully encapsulate Frank’s solo career so far. And if all that wasn’t enough, just days after this Frank will fulfil one of his dreams by supporting folk rock legends The Levellers as they tour the UK and Europe. But first Monday 20th October 2008 Frank releases ‘Long Live The Queen’ which as well as the Radio 1 support has gained plays on XFM and 6Music and the video is on the Myspace Chart on MTV2 for the 4th week running. With proceeds from the sale of the single going to Breast Cancer Campaign – all in all things ain’t looking too shabby…. Frank Turner’s rise to superstardom is picking up pace… All tour dates are listed overleaf: NOVEMBER 19 Paradiso, Amsterdam w/The Levellers 20 Effenaar, Eindhoven w/The Levellers 21 Schurr, Lucerne w/Heidi Happy 22 Hirscheneck, Basel, w/Chris T-T 23 Grabenhalle, St Gallen, w/Chris T-T 24 Tiki's Pub, Geneva, w/Chris T-T 25 The Flying Pig, Vienna, w/Chris T-T 26 Diagonal, Fori Bologna w/Chris T-T 27 MADS, Roma w/Chris T-T 28 Extra, Recanati w/Chris T-T LEVELLERS UK TOUR DECEMBER 08 03 Truro Hall for Cornwall 04 Exeter Great Hall 05 Lincoln Engine Shed 06 Manchester Academy 07 Norwich UEA 09 Bristol Academy 10 Middlesbrough Town Hall 11 Sheffield Octagon 12 Leeds Academy 13 Birmingham Academy 14 Southampton Guildhall 16 Oxford Academy 17 Inverness Ironworks 18 Glasgow ABC THE GASLIGHT ANTHEM TOUR FEBRUARY 09 10 Koln Underground, Germany 11 Kato Berlin, Germany 12 KB Malmo, Sweden 13 Sticky Fingers, Gothenburg, Sweden 15 Tavastia, Helsinki, Finland 17 Debaser Slussen, Stockholm, Sweden 18 Lille Vega, Copenhagen Denmark 19 Knusy, Hamburg, Germany 20 Schlachthof, Wiesbaden, Germany 21 59:1 Munchen, Germany 22 Flex, Wien, Austria 24 Zoe Club, Milano, Italy 25 Mascotte, Zurich, Switzerland 27 Botanique Orangerie, Brussels, Belgium 28 Vera, Groningen, Holland March 1 Melkweg, Amsterdam, Holland |
