Sleep Station Releases New Record for Free
During times of economic and political turmoil, we have always looked to our songwriters to unite us and give us a common voice for our frustration.

A great song can eloquently and succinctly say what many of us already feel. It’s a place we can all go to find kinship and understanding amongst our like-minded neighbors. A song provides a voice for us when we feel most disconnected from our country and our leaders.

Generations before us have always joined together through music during times like these. Our parents organized massive scale protests without the Internet or text messages. This was a generation united by their artists, whom empowered them and brought them together. We look around us now and hardly see anyone speaking for us. The airwaves are full of political talk radio, but the pop and rock stations offer us very little.

“I did a record a few years back called "After The War", says Sleep Station songwriter-frontman David Debiak, "It was about different people's experiences during the second world war. Somehow troops serving in Iraq got a hold of it and started emailing me some of the most touching words I've ever read. A few of these songs are written from their perspective. I wanted to reach out to people with these songs and maybe help convey some of those messages. Especially now with one of the most important elections in our history before us.”

Debiak, an astute political observer, felt compelled to record an impassioned new album, Blood of Our Fathers. He recorded it on his own dime and chose to deliver it for free to anyone willing to vote in the coming election along side our friends at Airandseabattle.com.

We hope that you enjoy it as much as we do, and that you find something within it that speaks to you.
