I give him a lot of respect for that, actually. He and his wife have both talked about it. They're realistic. They know it's a possibility. They think it's worth doing anyway, so good for them.

I think everyone is kind of worried about that. When he won the nomination, I wondered if he'd make it off the stage. At the DNC, I wondered if that would be his last speech. On Tuesday night, my ass was clenched. You just never know. It could happen at any moment.

His whole thing is not being crippled by fear. Not letting fear rule your life and make all of your decisions for you. I think that's as true for his supporters as it is for the crazy rednecks who think he's a terrorist. All we can really hope at this point is that the cheeseball patriotism of NASCAR-types will override their racism. Republicans want to be fascists when they grow up, so they have it in them to blindly follow a leader. They just have to stop being scared of him.

I have to admit it was a bit scary when he was on stage in that (for want of a better word) cage of bullet proof glass, waving at everyone. And he definately was the right person to win, but he's also really good at speeches (that's his strength) and idealism, and I'm not sure how much of what he's promised he's going to be able to actually do, he is a politician after all. But that said, it's such a relief he's president!

Now we just gotta make Dizzee Rascal prime minister! Haha..
