FLOBOTS - THE NEW SINGLE “RISE”

UK RELEASE DATE – 1st December 2008 UK TOUR CONFIRMED WITH RISE AGAINST

Flobots have confirmed that they will release the second single from their critically acclaimed album Fight With Tools on 1st December 2008. The track RISE will be released through Universal/Island Records. The band’s first single “Handlebars” was a huge success in the UK, charting in the Top 15 and being A-listed at Radio 1. Additionally the band played two sold out shows in London and Manchester in late September.

Their album Fight With Tools has now sold almost half a million copies in the US and The Los Angeles Times called it ‘a focused flip-book of progressive-leaning issues: corporate greed, Guantanamo, the Iraq war, globalization, racism, government-sanctioned assassination, the plight of the powerless.’ Flobots have been compared to Rage Against The Machine both musically and for their political outspokenness culminating in the bands teaming up to perform at an Anti-war rally at the Democratic National Convention in late August. Additionally, the video to RISE was directed by Gavin Bowden who has shot videos for Rage Against The Machine and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The band will return in February 2009 to tour with Rise Against and Anti-Flag. The UK Tour Dates are as follows:
