As seen on tour in 2008 with Oasis, Kasabian, Razorlight, The View, Courteeners, Reverend & The Makers and more
Oldham 3 piece Twisted Wheel are all set to unleash their frenetic & anthemic debut album ‘We Are Us’ into the ether.
We Are Us is a bold debut that has captured the raw explosive power that the bands frenetic and furious live show has long promised.
The album was recorded in Los Angeles with acclaimed producer Dave Sardy (Oasis/Marilyn Manson) earlier this Summer and is set for release in February 2009. Here they have channelled the spirit of early UK punk and fused it with a youthful swagger and a wider & grander ambition.
Their debut album has been informed and shaped by a year of consistent touring, playing up and down the UK on a series of long headline tours including two massive sold out & progressively bigger Manchester hometown shows.
2008 has also seen them as special guests to Oasis, Razorlight, The Courteeners, Kasabian, The View and Reverand & The Makers and made triumphant festival appearances at Dot to Dot, The Great Escape, Kendall Calling, Radio 1’s Big Weekend, T-In The Park, Oxegen & Reading/Leeds Festival (even inciting a stage invasion at the latter). They round off this year with four headline shows in December - see below for details.
Huw Stephens' Introducing show was one of the early supporters of the band which secured them a place on Radio 1's Introducing stage at One Big Weekend 2008, before headlining Radio 1's Introducing stage at 'In The City' in Manchester. More support followed with 2 records of the week on Zane Lowe, and radio support at Q Radio, XFM, 6 Music, Radio 2, and Absolute radio. The band have already had their TV debut, on Channels 4's Transmission, and the videos have been represented on MTV2, 4Music, Q Radio and NME TV, as well as support from across the music press.
