The Gaslight Anthem announce UK Tour in 2009 New Jersey’s favourite sons, The Gaslight Anthem return to our shores in early 2009 for a full UK tour. After exploding onto the scene with their critically acclaimed sophomore album ‘THE ’59 SOUND’ (SideOneDummy), the band will bring their high-octane live show to the following venues (support comes from Frank Turner and Polar Bear Club): February: 2nd Portsmouth @ Wedgewood Rooms 3rd Birmingham @ Academy 4th Manchester @ Academy 2 5th Bristol @ Academy 2 6th Brighton @ Concorde 8th London @ Shepherds Bush Empire (NME Awards Show) March: 2nd Norwich @ Waterfront 3rd Nottingham @ Rock City 4th Dublin @ The Academy Hailing from New Brunswick, New Jersey, the band’s anthemic tales of life, loss, family, heartbreak and youth have captured the imagination and hearts of fans and media everywhere. ‘THE ’59 SOUND’ is being hailed as one of the albums of the year, with Kerrang! putting the band on the cover before ever having written a word about them, NME calling THE ’59 SOUND the “best album of 2008” and other immensely positive press coming from the likes of Q Magazine, Rock Sound, Big Cheese, Classic Rock, Clash and The Sun as well as from influential American magazines Rolling Stone, SPIN and Alternative Press.
