Le Reno Amps Release New Single 'Send Me On My Way'

On what Le Reno Amps describe as sounding like “a night of whiskey fuelled debauchery in the Highlands”, 'Send Me On My Way' – released on Drift Records – blends their own unique brand of sun soaked Scottish Indie with some hell-raising ramshackle Country. It’s perhaps a yearning for the sun that doesn't always shine in their home-town of Glasgow but just one hearing of 'Send Me On My Way' is enough to know that this is a chunk of fun capable of warming hearts and feet alike on the chilliest of winter mornings.

Recorded earlier this year with Andy Miller (Mogwai, Sons & Daughters, Scout Niblett), and supported by the Scottish Arts Council, 'Send Me On My Way' marks the beginning of a new chapter in Le Reno Amps story. After last year’s downbeat but critically praised album, 'So For Your Thrills…', this high-energy release manages to reconfigure their musical landscape with creative melodies and a harmonic upbeat sound. Not to mention a sterling lapsteel performance care of Marc Beatty (Brakes) and a guitar solo that would have The Tennessee Three bowled over in excitement.

The single is the band’s first release on Drift Records, which sees them joining the ranks of Devon’s finest musical amalgam, The Drift Collective. 'Send Me On My Way' is taken from the forthcoming long player 'Tear It Open' which is scheduled for release in Spring 2009. The single is backed by an exclusive non-album track, 'Airwaves', three more bright and breezy minutes of sun-kissed power-pop.

Le Reno Apms music can be bracketed as indie, some say power pop, others say alt-country, the important thing to remember is Le Reno Amps are not high brow, they are in fact the lowest brow. Although the band have recently shared stages with the likes of Brakes, The Concretes, Arab Strap, Sons & Daughters, and The Stranglers it’s plain to see that these three men and a little lady operate so far out of fashion they stand-alone and shine with a majestic beauty.
