Kings Of Leon Get 3 Grammy Noms and Headline Madison Sq. Garden

RCA Records is extremely proud and excited to announce that Kings Of Leon have been nominated for three Grammy awards. The Nashville, TN, four-piece's hit album Only By The Night has been nominated for "Best Rock Album," while the single, "Sex On Fire," is up for "Best Rock Song," as well as "Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals."

The band is thrilled to add the nominations to the growing list of milestones reached so far this year in America, including the rise of the single "Sex On Fire," which is now standing as the #1 song in America on Modern Rock Radio. In September, Only By The Night debuted in the top five on the Billboard top 200 and #1 at the iTunes store. The band has since performed on Saturday Night Live and Late Night with David Letterman. The band appeared on the cover of Spin magazine's October issue, and is on the cover of Q magazine's current issue in the UK, in which they received "Record of the Year" honors.

In the UK, the record debuted at #1 while "Sex on Fire" was the #1 single there for three weeks. A #1 record with a #1 single at the same time is a rare feat for any artist, let alone an international one. The record spent two weeks at #1 and is now double platinum in the UK. It's remained in the top 10 since it was released. It exploded in other countries as well: Currently four times platinum in Australia, the record debuted at #1 in Ireland and New Zealand and has gone gold in Canada.

Having just completed a sold-out national theater tour in the US this fall, Kings Of Leon will hit the road in the states again in January with a string of dates culminating with the band's first headlining show at Madison Square Garden.

Critical response to Only By The Night has been stellar. Vanity Fair hailed the new record as "a big leap forward and genuinely ups the ante," while Entertainment Weekly said the band "bash out spooky, raw-edged riffs that rarely go where you'd expect them to. In the UK, Uncut magazine gave the record "Album of the Month" honors and exclaimed, "the Kings of Leon aren't impersonating the greats, they're competing with them on an increasingly level playing field."
