Delta Spirit have earned a reputation as one of America’s most exciting live acts after opening sold-out tours for Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Cold War Kids and Dr. Dog.

Now, with irrepressible debut single ‘Trashcan’ out January 19th on Rounder Records, the California five-piece ring in the New Year with their first ever UK dates. Full details below:

Featuring lead singer Matt Vasquez’s trademark rasping vocals, ‘Trashcan’ is a boisterous piano-driven romp, and the perfect introduction to Delta Spirit’s invigorating, hook-laden rock ‘n’ blues.

Taken from the forthcoming debut album ‘Ode To Sunshine’ (released March 23rd), ‘Trashcan’ will be available as two-track digital single and 7” vinyl. Both formats include superb additional track ‘People Turn Around’, another undoubted album highlight.

Delta Spirit’s multi-instrumental versatility and Vasquez's forceful delivery make for an unforgettable live experience. With further UK 2009 dates in the pipeline, the band also record a Radio 1 ‘In New Music We Trust’ session for Steve Lamacq to be broadcast January 19th.
