 Standing on the shoulders of his musical heroes Dylan, Springsteen and Cat Stevens, 24-year old singer, songwriter and guitarist Jersey Budd arrives February 16th with stunning debut album ‘Wonderlands’. Available on This Feeling / Bandstocks, ‘Wonderlands’ is an inspired slice of Anglo-American rock ’n’ blues. Infectious new single ‘Visions Of You’ is released February 9th.
Spurred along by some late night jams (and a few nightcaps) ‘Wonderlands’ was recorded alongside fellow Leicester lads Kasabian, who were putting the finishing touches to their third albumin a nearby studio. Produced by Gren Spencer, ‘Wonderlands’ was mixed by Paul Stacey (Oasis, The Black Crowes) and mastered by Ian Cooper (Oasis, The Verve) - both recommended to Jersey by Noel Gallagher.
Jersey’s unique take on rock history makes ‘Wonderlands’ a fascinating listen. On ‘Shotgun Times’ he updates southern rock with contemporary string and horn arrangements, while ‘She Came Back’ shimmers with the 60’s finest harmonies. Written on a London rooftop after a debauched night with Serge Pizzorno, rocking album closer ‘The Blind Man’, distils Jersey’s influences into one irresistible, string-laden package.
Jersey has broken new ground with his unconventional record deal: a partnership between Jersey, his fans and new service Bandstocks, which offers fans unprecedented access to Jersey and his music in return for investment in the production and marketing of 'Wonderlands'. Jersey is well on his way to raising the required funding, vindicating his decision to turn down a major label record deal earlier this year.
