Wolstenholme Projects, Beaten Tracks and Mellowtone are proud to present a signature closing party for the climax of Liverpool’s year as European Capital of Culture at the International Festival Space, Fifth Floor of Tate Gallery, Liverpool. A variety of events will run throughout the day from 2pm, including a fashion show, an indoor street party and interventionist theatre, topped with an interactive psychedelic art installation with visuals from TV Lux, Towyn & Howard be Thy Name, all sound-tracked by the intense country-blues of SJ Downes, the experimental electronic folk of Hapytap AND headlined by the swirling psyche garage of Whiskey Headshot. Entry to the festival is free, doors at 7pm.
Whiskey Headshot is the union of four psychedelic souls conducting sonic experiments on board their flying pirate ship, resulting in music of undeniable beauty – their love of vintage avant-garde polished to a shimmering pop finish.
Forming in Liverpool the band have earned the title of being the best unsigned band in the city after 2 years of writing, rehearsing and gigging all over the UK, collecting a growing army of friends & fans along the way.
The band recorded what is set to be their debut release at the Motor Museum studios last year and the tracks were unveiled on BBC Radio’s Dave Monks’ show during a live session to a great reception, followed by their first public airing at the sell out end of year show at Liverpool Academy. Promo copies of the Motor Museum sessions of ‘Black Cat’ and ‘Strangers in the Night’ are available upon request.
